They are going to be getting rid of a lot of things. They are also getting rid of the self serve soda fountains. I heard that the McDonalds you are familiar with is a thing of the past and it will emerge from COVID-19 a different place. I guess that is a good and bad thing. They just spent a ton of money remodelling all their stores to have a more cafe, coffee/internet lounge feel. Gone. Lots of elderly people on fixed incomes used to go to McDonalds and get something inexpensive to eat and just sit and enjoy some coffee as a reason to get out of the house. Not anymore. That is kinda sad.

Aside from age, obesity and it’s related conditions are what kills Americans and makes Covid more lethal. Our response, shut down gyms, limit the outdoors and keep McDs open but double down on their fries.

McDonald’s does need to figure something out long term though. Everything on their menu is done better elsewhere (five guys, Chick-fil-A, Panera, Starbucks). The only thing they do well is getting you on your way quickly.

I miss the breakfast buffet where you could get as much as you wanted. Potatoes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, syrup, etc.

I don't know the last time I was in a McDonalds at lunch time there were plenty of large women of size gobbling down burgers and fries. I did not see one person order a salad. The salads are very hit or miss anyway. They are premade and once they are gone they appear to be gone for the rest of the day. I have never seen four women in business attire meet up for salads and complimentry large ice waters to do lunch at McDonald's. The more likely scenario is that the attractive trim health concious female brings along kids, her boy friend or husband or some of her fatty female friends. She gets a salad every one else orders nuggets, extra large fries and burgers, extra thick shakes and are happy as fuck cause it tastes oh so good.

I'm sorry ma'am we are all out of salads today. Oh well. Just this once, I'll order a grilled Chicken sandwich and... an extra small order of fries and a bottle of water.

I ordered a salad from there in January. Wilted leaves and didn’t smell right, ate it anyway though. Diarrhea hit me half way through eating it. McDonald's doesn't really do much for people. It keeps them in low-paying jobs and addicts people to food that's for the most part, unhealthy.

There will always be a need for convenient food. Maybe this pandemic can encourage some local entrepreneurs to compete with McD's on a wide-scale basis. We really don't need them when you think about it.

Their revenue peaked in 2013 and is down 25% since then. Clearly not disappearing any time soon but I’d say other entrepreneurs have already been cutting into their market share.
