Can my ex-husband request full custody of kids if i'm leaving VA to find job in CA?

I have two boys ages, Boys 16 & 17yrs old; I've been unable to find employment in over the past 7 months; my ex-husband is paying for household expenses since I have no means to pay; I'd asked him to stay with the kids for couple of months until I get on my feet; he is now threatening to request full custody and not allow kids to leave. What are the chances he can do that? Is it legal?

Can he do it?

Does a lawyer chase ambulances?

So you are angry that he's trying to keep the kids local, and keep them stable in an environment/school/freind that they know and are comfortable with

Don't you think he's angry that you are trying to take his children to the cesspool that is california...and looking out for the kids benefit...


Honey, just because you squeezed two bowling balls out of your snatch, doesn't mean you can take kids away from their father...

Look cut your losses, take a lower paying job for a couple years until the kids are done with highschool and going to college. Then you can head out to california...

Or better yet... Let your kids decide who they want to live with,
