Depends..river is narrow if it was Gtown but this was near Joint Base where its a bit wider. Even decent swimmers cant swim from one end to the other without taking a break. If there was slight wind or current even worse. Of course staying aflot would be eaiser but I think they panicked and exerted too much energy. Not jokimg but if they were the gym tan cologne guys they would have too much muscle strength and not enough endurance and fatigue.

high tide, one could walk probably a good 100 from the shore at national
