Former Covance Land at Rt. 7 & Towlston Rd.

Anyone heard anything about what they are planning to do with the land? It seems like prime property for a neighborhood community or commercial development, yet it's been sitting there for a number of years now. Are buyers apprehensive about the Covance stigma it brings with it? I've been through the area and they had signs posted at one time warning of contamination. Any insight or information is appreciated.

I worked there after college before Corning bought it. It was a fun place to work in the late 80's. I have heard it is an EPA Superfund site now. The management was total rednecks before Corning. There was a swamp in the back. One year there was a drought and business machines were visible. The president to the Vienna patch "We know what's in there and we are not telling ". LOL

I have it on good authority that that land will be the proud new home of a state of the art Arthur Treacher's. New fish fryers. Top of the line Fanta dispensers. And, as always, friendly service and great value!

Weren't they involved in experiments with animals using Ebola for germ warfare?

Here are some published items regarding their horrendous research conducted there.

Who was involved in animal testing?? Arthur Treacher's?? Their fish was never tested on any animals. Only humans were allowed to taste the fresh, hot fish and chips and hush puppies and cole slaw.

The Ebola was in Monkeys from Africa.

The outbreak was at an offsite quarantine building. It is now called Ebola Reston Strain. No humans got sick.

The Ft Det Army guys went in. All monkeys were put down. The building was sterilized and they bugged out. They left a mess with Hazelton vials broken on the floor all over the place.

I knew the guy who bought it at a cut rate price, held it for three years, and made a killing re-selling it.

The world suffers from many world problems and the fact that research is taking place is a confirmation of this. It's important to always remember that we can change everything, the article made me think https://www.tampabaynewswire.com/2020/03/25/5-reasons-why-animal-testing-should-ban-worldwide-85113 is a really big contribution to the history of animal testing. We need to raise this problem.
