we don't have an electoral college for Virginia. People vote. Dirt doesn't. Nine of Virginia's ten most populous jurisdictions went for Northam. The one that Gillespie won he carried by less than 1%.

Lots and lots of everyday people would like a government that provides good governance, fights corruption, ensures we all have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe, sees that the law is fairly enforced, provides for the education of children, preserves the infrastructure necessary for efficient transportation of people and goods, and promotes a general tone of civility among all citizens including national leadership. Those people vote Democratic.

Have you been to San Fransisco? It's the most disgusting city I've seen. Homeless and bums everywhere, the constant smell of sewage, urine, and pot smoke in the air. People beg for money, but unlike in DC where they leave you alone if you ignore them, in SF they follow you and call you names like "asshole", and fuck head.

You both missed my point. San Fran has lots of homeless, as does most California's cities. But it doesn't have ghettos. LA does. San Francisco has Oakland, but that's on the other side of the Bay and a completely different city. Oakland is one big ghetto. That's where San Fran put it's 'undesirables'.

New York is the most expensive real estate on the planet. That is a function of supply and demand. It doesn't have the problems described above, as shown in the high demand for space, particularly in Manhattan but in the other boroughs as well, although to a lesser degree. Some areas of Chicago are not in great demand at present because of the well-known street violence, but others, downtown (the Loop) the lakeshore from Grant Park north, Hyde Park, and so on, are fine and property values stable due to the fact that many young people starting their careers are attracted to Chicago because of the cultural opportunities, sports teams, and good jobs. Do the homework, check the facts, utilize critical thinking skills.

gerrymandering has no effect in a statewide election
and county borders have been in place for a 100+ years
and even if you could, you could slice & dice those county borders any way you wanted and Northam would've still won the election

Sure, Hollywood has billionaires and thousands of millionaires, and they gotta live somewhere. Chicago has commodity brokers and some industrial CEO's who have to live somewhere. NY has stock traders and bankers, who have to live somewhere. So they all have their walled off, private policed havens. The other 99% live in shit, with shitty roads, shitty services, shitty crime, and balkanized neighborhoods. You don't know shit.

INTERESTING !! I just read that over 81,000 that's THOUSAND guns were sold in Virginia in the month of June 2020. Over 175% more then in 2019. I wonder why? This is even after the whims in the Virginia government passed sweeping gun laws. What a fucking joke.
