Are Liberals really even that different from Conservatives?

This might sound ridiculous - but it's true. We're taught that Liberals and Conservatives are as different from Night and Day - But are they really? Or it is just a ruse to keep the population in check? In reality, I know this is gonna hurt.. but they aren't all the different and far closer on the spectrum than you might be led to believe. Take for instance where and how most American Politicians score on the Political Compass Test.

First of all, let me say that I appreciate your posting this article. This is an insightful, relatively balanced video that provokes real thought. If you haven't heard, that's not what this RepTroll, Q-sucking, hate-filled forum is all about! You sir, are at the wrong place.
Anyhow, the video says the right words but skews the axes without any evidence to make their point. By pointing Bernie a "moderate socialist" and putting him dead center, the rest of video rationally obviously follows.
Back to the question. Let me offer this quiz to tease out whether you are a Libertarian or a Democrat. To me, Libertarian is a weasel word for people who just don't want to commit. Most libertarians are against everything and against all laws. If you press them, all that matters to them is to be "left alone."
Take the following Libertarian Quiz. If you are "for"laws and government supporting these things, then you are a Democrat. If you are against laws supporting these things, then you are a Libertarian or a Republican.
But every person getting lead filled water, every polar bear losing his habitat, every public school child who's getting the short straw and every Dreamer who may get deported, can't fight the government individually. We need laws that support society and what we believe in. "Leave me alone" isn't the answer.

1. Anti-discrimination laws (sex, age, race, etc.) in commerce and employment
2. Environmental protection/pollution laws or protecting endangered species
3. Equal pay for equal work laws
4. Food and drug regulation and medical licensing
5. Some limits on illicit drugs and an age limit for drinking
6. Some safety net for the poorest of the poor (Medicaid, Welfare)
7. Public schools
8. National Parks
9. Minimum wage
10. Public roads and regulated infrastructure (water, sewer, electricity, police and fire, etc.)
11. Some limits and controls on immigration
