Covid death rate is the same in VA as it is in FL

Even with all those "surging" new cases, the death rate here in VA is the same as FL.

https://www.bing.com/covid/local/florida_unitedstates - 35 / day death rate

Florida has 21.5 million people

https://www.bing.com/covid/local/virginia_unitedstates - 15 / day death rate

Virginia has 8.5 million people

Don't believe the fake news

In deaths per million Virginia is 22nd and Florida is 27th.

Florida is still 90% fewer deaths than New York... but Florida is getting hammered...

Yeah dumbass, but the fact that VA was hit hard by the virus previously is why the numbers are so high for VA. The surge in FL is recent. New cases in June in VA per day were about 500, half that of the per day rate in May. Currently VA Beach is the only area surging.
Florida went from about 700 per day in may and has ramped up to 8,000 new cases per day in the last week. Florida on Thursday reported 10,109 new cases of the coronavirus, marking a new single-day record for the state, It’s the 25th consecutive day that Florida has set a record high in its seven-day rolling average.

Is there any chance your mom dropped you on your head as a child?

Retard OP posits that the surge of cases in FL is fake news. Guess that Miami has a curfew and in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott issued a statewide mandate requiring Texans to wear masks in public in any county with 20 or more positive covid-19 cases- because they been snookered by that dastardly fake news.

Apple and Google are tracking your interactions with a secret app on your phone.

If you've got an Android phone, go to settings and then the Google tab. You should see the COVID-19 app that can't be deleted.

Big brother is tracking you!

Yes we’ve all seen the headlines that Florida is setting records with new cases, they’ve been on the rise for a month... but deaths have remained fairly flat.

As for why they are closing despite deaths rates not increasing and hospitals not being overrun, it’s for a similar reason you take down Lincoln for BLM. To appease the angry mob.

Here are some facts. Current death rates (data 7/2/2020) for: Florida, New York, Virginia, Maryland, DC, Texas, England (UK), France, Spain, Italy and US average.

Current COVID-19 death rates per 100k population:
TX 8.8
Fl 16.8
VA 21.3
US 39.9
FR 45.8
MD 53.2
IT 57.5
SP 60.7
UK 65.0
DC 77.8
NY 160

It seems to me that the question should be why NY, DC and MD are performing so poorly. One fourth of the deaths in the US are in NY. Also worth asking is why the Euro countries whose health systems the libs swear are so good that we should copy them are so far behind us?

Cases means nothing, it's deaths that tell the story. Most new cases are in young people (the average age of the new cases is 20 years lower that in the first wave) and they are unlikely to die from it. In fact, they are unlikely to get seriously sick from it. In Fx county, which is at 42.7 / 100k, the deaths by age show 507 total with 437 of those age 65+.

Remember, the media will tell any lie to defeat Trump.

Did you pull this factoid out of your asshole?
Many Covid-19 cases in youth are not even part of the statistics because they have not been tested as those showing symptoms have. The hospitals are trying to meet the challenge of the influx of new patients; the surge is recent... sadly an escalation of deaths is bound to follow.
Your argument is like saying during a heavy rain that flooding is impossible because you don't at the present moment see the river rising.

No, I got it from a real source; I'm not a democrat.

As California’s economy opens up, coronavirus cases are getting younger and younger.

An analysis released this week reveals that more than 44% of new diagnoses are in people age 34 or younger, up from 29% a month ago.

There’s a corresponding drop in cases among older people. The proportion of COVID-19 cases among Californians older than 50 has plummeted from 46% to 30.5% in the past month.

The proportion of cases among middle-aged Californians — ages 35 to 49 — has plateaued, neither rising nor falling.

“It is striking that there is such a strong shift. Cases are much younger now than they were earlier in the pandemic,” said infectious disease epidemiologist George Lemp, who calculated the trends using historical data from the California Department of Public Health.

Then add to that the fact that the virus is a nothing burger for those under 65. In Fx, out of 507 deaths, 437 were 65+. I know you dems are praying that millions die so that Trump loses, but trust me - Trump 2020!

OK sport, let's say that this same stat can hold true for Floridians. So the percentage of those infected for youth has gone from 29% to 44%, and those over 50 50 from 46% to 30.5%. By what logic is a spike in cases in FL from 700 per day in May to 8,000 new cases per day today "fake news" and not a concern because "Most new cases are in young people"? The stats that you supplied do not bear that out.
And Trump is a traitorous douche, Covid, or no Covid. If Trump wins in 2020, America should be ashamed of itself.

Because daily deaths in Florida, which is the metric that matters, has remained unchanged. Oh, and hospitals still aren’t overrun.

The other metric that matters is lives that are ruined. Not from having the cough for three days but from losing a job/business and having housing/food insecurity because others shut down the economy. America should be ashamed for ignoring that metric.

By the way, does anyone actually think the age of people getting infected has changed significantly? Florida has probably had 10,000+ new cases a day for months but they were never testing the young people before.

All the young people I know who tested positive only got tested due to going in for another medical procedure or for work.

That ship sailed four, five, six months ago when Trump repeatedly failed to provide Federal leadership, day after day after day and he let a shitstorm transpire. The shame is upon him and anyone who tries to reopen now is promptly bit in the ass, though that is changing now that the testing is more prevalent and more effective treatments have evolved in recent months to lower the death rate.

Why should I waste my time explaining it to a dummy who can't tell a guy with a cold from a dead man? Why don't you explain why a few coughs in FL is worse (in your feeble mind) than the thousands dead in NY because of liberal incompetence? Then explain why it's ok for you to cover it up and ignore reality? While you're at it, explain how Trump ruined NY but let FL, TX and VA et al get off easy - he's the president of all the states, shouldn't they be a mess too?
These are rhetorical questions since I know you lack the reasoning power to stay on topic and actually use logic.

MAGA 2020!

Not to belittle the efforts of the medical field, but most these new cases are never going into the hospital.

Main difference is the increase in testing like you mentioned. Also benefiting by the fact that viruses are less deadly in the summer. A long established fact that for months would get shouted down with “We don’t know that, this virus is different.”

But by all means people, slow the spread so you don’t get it until December when your immune system is weaker.
