If you can't afford to live in Fairfax County, there are plenty of other options. I can't afford to live in Manhattan, so I don't live there.

There should also be free Norplant devices put in the arm of every mother and teenage girl who walks through the door looking for a free lunch for themselves or one of their offspring. Would it cost a few dollars to implement? Sure, but it would save an assload down the road.

Need to go back to the 70's when only low lives had food stamps and their kids had free lunch. There was an issue of pride taking care of your family. Even kids did not want to have free lunch because of the status.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and my WW2 generation parents would have died before taking any kind of public assistance (even though they had 7 kids). We did not live in a palace by any stretch of the imagination. I remember all kinds of problems with our house, but it was a roof that they paid for themselves. We packed our own lunches and ate a lot of peanut butter sandwiches. I remember being jealous of kids who had name brand cookies in their lunches, but a worse fate would have been to get free lunch. I admire my parents for what they did and for their self reliance. They were married for 63 years before my mom passed. My dad was recently honored for his WW2 service and one of the things he said during his honor trip was, "Do you think they are giving me this cap and jacket or should I give them back?" Yeah, that's my dad.

I have nothing against helping people who need help, but I do hope they realize what they are getting, don't take it for granted, and that they find a way to give back.

They don't think about that when they decide to create them!!!

They just figure it will all work out since they can suck the system dry to provide for their kids.

You forgot to add....and send them to public school. A real parent home schools their children. Why the FUCK would a parent subject their children to a prison and let a person they don't even know teach them? It makes no sense at all.

This makes no sense. Libs will bend over backward and are extremely passionate about keeping the murder of unborn children legal in the USA. They murder over a million unborn humans every year but here they are giving them a free lunch? WTF? Great lessons these libtards are teaching kids. Do nothing and get something for it. What the fuck is wrong with you people?

I raised two children and sent them both to public school and it was a good thing I did because they never listened to or believed a thing I said and I can only imagine how things would have worked out if Social Services would have agreed to let me keep my children. Schooling them would have been a nightmare. They were good kids, no arrests, no traffic tickets, it was just that Mom didn't know anything. Try teaching them with that attitude. I would have gotten arrested.

Now that they are in their 20's, they admit I did indeed have a clue about life and they are sounding just like me.

Fcps is no longer a place to recieve education, instead it is a place to learn english, and enjoy "complimentary" day care, sports club, and a soup kitchen over the summer. You would think with such a huge budget shortfall some private charities can take care of this, but noooooo instead the government has to give more entitlements.

How can we have a strong, responsible, prosperous society if government incentivizes laziness and dependence and disincentives hard work? Obama likes to invoke "commonsense" as the compelling reason he must violate the rule of law, his oath of office, and the Constitution. Yet his economic policies are absolutely nonsensical.

To all you true Christians out there, remember, whoever welcomes and feeds a child, is as if doing it for Jesus himself. And he who derides who disregards poor children, well it's as if you are deriding Jesus himself.

The rest of you readers abide by your own moral compass, unless you're an atheist Leftist/Progressive, in which case who gives a f--k what you think.
