Last week Truro Church announced that their rector/pastor, Tory Baucum, was moving on. This week, the email below was sent out. Does anybody know the "grievances" against him?

"Tory Baucum has submitted his resignation as Rector of Truro Anglican Church and has also renounced (resigned) his ordained ministry in the ACNA (Anglican Church of North America). Tory and Elizabeth intend to be received into the Roman Catholic Church sometime next year.

Concurrently, members of Truro’s staff have alleged grievances against Tory, the seriousness of which is such that (1) the vestry is conducting a formal investigation by an independent party to determine what occurred, and (2) the inquiry will take some time to complete. Tory has agreed to participate."

Tory Baucom made headlines a few years ago when he tried to pursue "reconciliation" with the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia and its then-bishop, Shannon Johnston. Baucom received criticism from his bishop, John Guernsey, and ACNA Archbishop Foley Beach for his efforts. I have no idea whether Baucom's departure is related to his ill-fated "reconciliation" attempt with the diocese to which Truro belonged before its congregation voted, along with a number of others, to disaffiliate from TEC and the Diocese of Virginia in the winter of 2006-07.

FYI, Truro's website now lists Tim Mayfield as its acting rector.

What’s wrong - the Episcopal Diocese of VA couldn’t afford to have such a grand church with so few NeoUnitarian Universalists and had to turn it back over to the Anglicans?

Think of how much money was spent in that legal fight and how many parishioners left.

Truro used to be an amazing church in the 70s and 80s before the Episcopalians went full SJW

LMAO there is nothing churchy about MBC whatsoever. some chick took me a couple times. that megachurch certainly demonstrates the wealth and frivolousness of our area.

I have knowledge of this situation, actually he Has been quite harsh to his staff for some years, nothing illegal or even immoral, but has made some people rather miserable, it’s wrong but that’s all there is to this story.

The truth is he was caught spending the collection money over at the Fairfax Circle Arthur Treacher's last month. He was spending the nickles and dimes on cole slaw and hush puppies and fried fish. Fanta, too.

I don’t doubt it.

I just find it sad that Bishop Lee and the Episcopal diocese of VA
fought its former parishioners so hard in court to hold on to Truro,
nobody goes, and then the Diocese transfers it back to the now “splinter” group.

Any update here? was there a conclusion to the "investigation"?
