It is called a failure to hold business developers accountable for their activities and now expecting the rest of the community to pay the price.

Being taken care to raise rents by the Democrats who are in charge in NOVA and not helping hardworking Americans .

Home ownership is supply and demand, if you cant afford Fairfax go somewhere you can afford, no free lunch to buy a home , rents in Fairfax are another story they are pushed up artificially by illegals and leeches who overcrowd apts and get welfare to allow them to pay higher prices for rents in apts and townhomes

All for votes for Democrats in the future

Deport All Illegals . No Welfare assistance for public charge immigrants , cancel their green cards and send them packing home

Take care of America for Americans not foreign national Democrats

You wont we know and that's why you are going to lose your asses in November 2020

America has had enough

STFU Democrats stop lying to the American people

Fairfax is long lost.

Virginia is teetering on the edge of permanent anti-liberty socialism. If the dems win in Nov after what the state dems have done this session, the state is lost.

This is why I'm going to love it when I move out in 3 years. Sucked the system for as much as I could and then, just when there's not much left to suck out and the commies in Richmond and the Govt Center decide to take more from me to give to non-contributing leeches, I leave. They'll get nothing from me. My 4 cars, $1 million + house, dining out 3 times a week and all the other ways I could have been paying back into this shithole are saying adios.

Years ago I preached to all who would listen that FFC was devolving into a shithole and those who could should beat feet the fuck out. It was recognized someone would need to pay the carrying cost for all the illegals, ESL teachers and a bloated bureaucracy to manage it all.

It subsidizes an extremely small percentage of 'affordable' houses, creating essentially a lottery for people to win that need them. Doesn't seem like an affective method at all. For 40 million, they could hire a lot of building inspectors and other employees to fast track development of new housing where density is needed. But the NIMBYs would push back.

They need to make up to 130K a year and no less then 80K , let their asses rent and pay the full rental price with no assistance

This is another feel good special give away Democrat con game to show smiling minority "homeowners"

Hell yes its RACIST against all other Americans

Deport the illegals and welfare leech public charge immigrants and rents will drop

That does not square with future Democrat votes even though its best for the American people

Cut the crap. The problem predates Democratic control of the County government. When the decision was made to allow dense development in what has become the Silver Line Corridor it was entirely foreseeable that this development would create a huge demand for low income employees. It was at that time foreseeable at the time that surrounding jurisdictions could not be relied upon to house those low income workers. It was also foreseeable that if arrangements were not made to provide robust amounts of low income housing within short distances of the Silver Line Corridor employment areas, it would result in degradation of neighborhoods farther away, huge demands for additional public transportation and diminishing opportunities to force developers to include it later. Yet the politicians that were green lighting this development, Republicans as well as Democrats, conservative leaning as well as far left progressives, were happy to stick their heads in the sand and allow developers to mostly ignore the need to provide close in low cost housing for low income employees.

Well now the bill for this accumulated bipartisan incompetence has come due.

Regulation has become a pejorative among you on the right. Yet the essence of good regulation is to force those who create problems to deal with them themselves, rather than foisting them on the general population. That is precisely what has not happened in the Silver Line Corridor to date.

Such bullshit. Much more so than your normal brain vomit you spout on here Billy. The essence of regulation is control, not making people responsible for shit deal with it themselves. Geez, you are one stupid motherfucker. For every regulation, someone (usually the government) gains power and those being regulating lose power.

You communist piece of shit. Fuck off.

^^^Wah. I want to pay my employees shit. They won't be able to live near where my business on what I pay them. They won't be able to legally live anywhere in Northern Virginia on what I pay them. They won't be able to afford health insurance on what I pay them. They won't be able to afford to buy and maintain a car on what I pay them so they will need public transportation to get to work. They may even need to rely on food banks for food. It's not fair that I should have to pay additional tax to help cover the cost of providing basic subsistence for these employees that I am screwing over.

If there was any justice you wouldn't be paying 3% more in real estate taxes. You would be reimbursing the County for the entire cost of providing these services.

Assessments are shooting up. Together with the 3% rate increase, you’re looking at a total tax increase of 15-18%.

Dems always fuck over taxpayers!

Democrat's think taxing the hell out of US citizens to support illegals and leeches is wonderful

Trump has been giving feds those nice COLAS as Fairfax County just sucks them up to piss them away

Tax Waste Brain Teaser that's not hard to follow:

How many public services does Fairfax County offer to illegals

How many to immigrant public charges AKA Leeches

How many wasteful duplicate services does Fairfax And the State of Virginia have

The list goes on

Typical response from some underinformed conservative.

The Founding Fathers understood the importance of proper regulations to the functioning of society. Part of what pissed them off was the British government's habit of overturning colonial regulations. The notion that the Founders wanted a society where people were able to do whatever they wanted is a modern conservative myth.

An unregulated free market society of any size is about as societally beneficial as busy highways where drivers are not regulated or policed. Much of what is fucked up about Northern Virginia today is the result of a failure to properly regulate property developers and businesses in the past.
