You will not be legally able to drive into any park with a legally concealed handgun permit if this passes the Democrat controlled house soon .

This unconstitutionally act will criminalize law abiding citizens and put all others at great risk of terror attacks in the Nations Capitol area , as the law abiding concealed gun holders are too often the only legally armed persons in these areas except criminals . Banning persons from carrying firearms in public buildings is one thing, now to say no guns are allowed in the parking lots or vehicles even if they lock them in the trunks of their cars is complete irresponsible hatred and disregard for the publics safety

I expect Fairfax to place several dozen armed police constantly at every FCPA rec center and parks to protect us from now on if this act passes , you will not be able to walk on a trail legally armed.

This bill is a RAPIST Relief ACT ! Virginias parks will now be to dangerous to go to as havens for RAPISTS ROBBERS AND KILLERS Even In The US Federal parks you may carry concealed for your personal protection

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY ISSUE WITH LAW ABIDING PEOPLE LEGALLY ARMED IN PARKS IN FAIRFAX

THIS ACT DOES NOT PROTECT ANYONE ! IT ENDANGERES ALL legally

SB 35 was voted yea in the Virginia Senate by Fairfaxs Democrats and will soon be voted on in the Virginia House Contact them and tell them NO To This Rapist Assault Bill

SB 35 sent to the Va House now to be voted upon by the House maybe Monday

In buildings that are not owned by a locality, or by any authority or local governmental entity created or controlled by the locality, such ordinance shall apply only to the part of the building that is being used for a governmental purpose and when such building, or part thereof, is being used for a governmental purpose.

Well, it's true that it's unconstitutional. But it's not true that it will criminalize law abiding citizens, as ordinances aren't criminal offenses.

Their giving Fairfax and all other counties cities towns authority of law with penalties where there's no existing problem in Fairfax with people with a CCW or anywhere else in Virginia , its going to be a very bad unconstitutional law if it passes without a CCW exception or at least allowing the guns to be locked in a vehicle when going into a park

Just more typical overplaying of their hand which will destroy them in 2020 and 2021 as issues like this cross party lines

It could be a class 1 misdemeanor up to a year in jail for exercising your constitutional rights to walk on a public trail safely that your tax money pays for. It will make parks much more dangerous especially trails

§ 15.2-1429. Penalties for violation of ordinances.
Any locality may prescribe fines and other punishments for violations of ordinances, which shall be enforced by proceedings as if such violations were misdemeanors. However, no fine or term of confinement for the violation of ordinances shall exceed the penalties provided by general law for the violation of a Class 1 misdemeanor, and such penalties shall not exceed those penalties prescribed by general law for like offenses.

Retired police can carry concealed in any state by federal law but only where CCW is legal not anywhere that sworn police can carry

More reckless stupidity by Democrats for now

SB 35 "That prevents an employee of that locality or any person from storing at that locality's workplace a lawfully possessed firearm and ammunition in a locked private motor vehicle. Nothing in this section shall prohibit a law-enforcement officer, as "

They did not put "or any person" in the bill that would allow a firearm lawfully possessed to be kept in a locked private motor vehicle by any person

SB 35 is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL INFRINGEMENT without such language inserted into the bill and will be struck down if anyone is arrested that lawfully possesses a firearm that is in a locked private motor vehicle

If your parked in the lot how are cops going to come up with a probably cause to search for a gun locked in your car unless your start screaming at people "Ive Got A Gun in My Car and Im going to kill you " or your peddling drugs or robbing people or something equally crazy . If you enter a building they may have surprise metal detectors

In two years this will be gone as Dems will take a bath in 2020 and 21 impeaching and overreaching and lose it all

Cop who are retired are going to raise hell as they did not get exempted by this unconstitutional Virginia act and the LEOSA has exemptions that disallow carrying concealed by retirees in school zones public parks ,public buildings airports and more that prohibit concealed carry

In any event The LEOSA is a unconstitutional act itself as it creates a super 1st class of citizenship with a superior right to the citizen which they are to 2nd amendment rights

The constitution gives them no such authority, nor does it allow congress to make such a special class of citizens active sworn police are government agents not retired who are employed full or part time

Also federal law allows transport in any state of a firearm if the owner can legally posses it in their home state and its locked unloaded in a area not accessible to the driver , you have a right to stop in a park to take a shit or piss ask directions or ask for help or call for assistance with car troubles or a thousand other things

Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_Enforcement_Officers_Safety_Act

No concealed carrying in exempted areas for retired cops as they have no law enforcement authority that is superior to any other citizen

Another of Bush 43's unconstitutional acts as president he's not been called on yet

If LEOSA was amended to include any law abiding citizen who possesses a conceal handgun permit it would not create a special super class or 2nd amendment rights to such super citizens, and they called it "The Citizens Safety Act" CSA LOL it would be constitutional

As it stands there's constant confusion with this LEOSA act as to whom qualifies as a law enforcement officer or retired law enforcement officer

https://daiglelawgroup.com/leosa-state-by-state-why-are-retired-police-officers-having-problems/

BTW Retired police can not possess machine guns suppressors or destructive device unless other wise authorized by law as special tax stamp holders ie: owners of federal registered class III weapons and devices, citizens are the same .

SB35 has commas after each sentence which describes its authority, then it ends with the part about permitted events and then the metal detectors and security

It looks like it only gives authority to ban guns in the areas listed when permitted events take place at the sites not 24/7 so the governor does not have to make last minute declarations of no guns all over the state like in Richmond and before Charlottesville at any permitted event big or small

WTOP did say its to ban guns at permitted events but FXU needs a real lawyer to explain as Im just a jailhouse type

Guns at permitted events and in publiuc buildings and parks . Its a law that has nbo reason to exist to suppress the right of the people to bear arms even wi8th a CCW permit for their safety

The Virginia Citizen Defense League explanation

SB 35, Senator Surovell, allows localities to prohibit the carry of firearms or ammunition at any permitted event, or any event that would otherwise require a permit. It also allows localities to prohibit the carry of firearms into local government buildings and parks. This legislation is a solution in search of a problem. The only casualties in recent memory at a permitted event were the victims of the intentional misuse of a vehicle as a weapon, yet no ban has been proposed for vehicles at permitted events. Current laws already cover any crimes that can be committed at such events. The only incident in a local government building was a disgruntled employee that murdered co-workers in a gun-free zone. Disarming the law abiding does NOT make them safer. SB 35 is a solution in search of a problem. It is an unjustified restriction on law-abiding gun owners.
