I drive professionally for a living and I ride a motorcycle a lot. I've traveled extensively through out Europe, the U.S.A., Canada, Central America and South America. Car drivers in the Greater Washington Area are the worst drivers of any metro area I've ever been to. I've lived in Northern Virginia since the late 70's and have watched the driving habits of this area's car motorists steadily decline.

Less than a few years ago my friend was killed by a moron in a Subaru in Winchester on route 50. The driver was like most NOVA drivers, a window licking savage who doesn't have the operating skills to drive a Segway let alone a car. The guy who killed my friend got a traffic ticket. My friend, as reported by witnesses, was doing the speed limit and obeying traffic laws. He died on impact. The guy who murdered him got points and a fine. People who kill animals get more jail time than car motorist who destroy families by killing mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters for committing the crime of enjoying the open rode on their motorbike.

This type of thing happens a lot. Anyone who rides a motorbike or has a loved one who rides knows how much riding means to riders and how car drivers constantly tail gate, harass and maul riders to death. Saying that a rider should stop riding to avoid vehicular homicide is like saying women should cover every inch of their body to avoid being violated. Its ridiculous; its an ass backwards blame-the-victim mentality so prevalent in NOVA that it depicts just how selfish, foolish, unintelligent and sociopathic we've become as a society.

When I'm working and doing deliveries, I see some bikers riding like douche bags and giving other riders a bad name. What I see a lot more of is latte sipping weaklings who complain of noise violations and other frivolous matters while putting all other motorists, car drivers, bikers and bicyclists included, in peril with their appalling neglect for basic safety.

I don't have a horn on my motorcycle. I don't need one because I have straight pipes with no mufflers and my carburetor jetted to run my bike as such. The number one reason car drivers give for murdering bikers is because "I didn't know he was there." Well, now you know I'm there so you have no excuse. You'll just have to suck it up and be honest; you're self entitled, rich enough to win in court, homicidal and don't have a conscience. You don't mind leaving my kid without a parent because you're on your way to Starbucks or Wholefoods in your SUV.

You want to know why cops don't harass me for the noise my bike makes? Because they're sick of NOVA yuppies running over bikers and killing them; because many cops in this area are motorcyclist themselves or have loved ones who ride. They know what a bunch of witless, self entitled little bitches the car motorists of NOVA are. When cops see me ride by and still hear my bike two miles down the road, they know I'm doing what I need to do to increase my odds of making it from point A to point B without being another victim of the Northern Virginia urban assault vehicle.

I have a family and children. If a biker wakes us up in the middle of the night with his pipes, that's okay. I'd rather be woken up by somebody enjoying their motorbike than by a friend calling to let us know that another idiot driver killed one of our people; that another friend or relative was viciously wiped off the face of the earth because they were riding their machine and enjoying their freedom.

All motorcyclists reading this; sport bike riders, chopper heads, baggers, cruisers, anyone. Get your concealed permit and ride protected. It's not enough these days to wear all the right gear and make your bike louder. These fuckers want to hurt us. Defend yourselves.

Canada has the right idea as to what to do to mindless cage drivers to kill innocent bikers.

True essence of a South Park fag. The real reason the vehicle exhaust noise law is not enforced, is because the way it is written. It provides no measureable matrix to enforce against. An officer using common since should still be able to write a ticket on some of the loudest but that might take some effort.

I am a taxi driver from some 3rd world shithole waiting for my terror cell to be called up.

Mr friend died because he was riding his bike drunk in the middle of rt 50

I snuck into the US and now I have some anchor kids you guys get to support when I get killed.

I ride a moped with a rusted muffler because I don't give a shit about anyone else but myself.

Cops don't bother me because it is to much paperwork and besides Moped riders make good organ donors
