Finding a good grill in NOVA

Hey y'all FU'rs
I'm looking for a new outdoor cooking grill but have only been to Home Despot and Lows so far, both chains have shite to offer when it comes to buying a decent quality made grill, gas or charcoal. Wally World too. Is there a store any of y'all have been to that has good quality grills available for less than a mortgage payment? Thanks folks...

Might want to try and Ace Harware. They sell Weber and Big Green Eggs.

I bought both my grills at Lowe's and they have worked out fine. I have a Charbroil Commercial infrared 3-burner that I rarley use anymore, but I can do rotisserie on it. I also have a Char-Griller Akorn charcol grill that I us 95% of the time to grill steaks, burgers,etc.. and smoke ribs, pork shoulders, and brisket on. Thinking of replacing it with a Broil King Keg (formely know as Bubba Keg).

They all work fine, for a while, but a Weber will last. Save your money and get a Weber.

Weber is good quality and in the $500-700 price range depending on model. The "house" brands and others like CharBroil at Home Depot and Lowe's are crap...read the reviews on Consumer Reports. Most of the high quality (gas) grills in the $350-500 price range are not sold locally.

This 3-burner grill has great reviews and is around $200 less than a comparable Weber. The downside is that it seemes to only be available online.

How large a grill do you want? This model, sold at HH Gregg, is similar but only has two burners.

Dude, get yourself a Weber Platinum at Lowes and you will be happy. A couple of charcoal baskets and propane cans will make your grilling experience awesome. I have had mine since 2005. I buy a new cooking grate every year, but other than that have not had any issues. Make sure you buy a grill cover to protect it through the winter. I grill in the winter, but cover the grill when not in use just to keep it from suffering the effects of the weather. I would never consider using anything else...unless I won the fucking lottery and could afford a professional BBQ competition grill.

Yeah, Weber seems to be it. They seem to be better built AND the parts are available -- and that's the real key. Ours is over 20 years old, and I just replaced the ignitor and the drip tray for about $30 total.

What's interesting is that everyone always says "WEBER WEBER WEBER" but rarely why. You have to spend a lot of time reading to figure out that parts availability is the key.

Charbroiler is decent. I've got a big 3 burner that's a few years old and still looks and works like new.

You could also build your own charcoal firestone grill from a few dozen bricks if you have the space and time.

I will have to check out Village Hardware , I have heard they have everthing Weber sells.

If you just want to gas some steaks or burgers get a 99 dollar gas grill from Lowes or H.D.

If you want to Bar B Que slow and good, Pork picnics, Boston Butts, Pork Loins, Chicken, Turkeys, Ribs, get a Weber 22 1/2 grill, You can also do the steaks, dogs, burgers.

Now I will tell you a secret a 22 1/2 Weber Grill and A Weber Smokey Joe are the thing. You put the food on the 22 1/2 and use the Smokey Joe to keep hot coals coming, no raw charcoal in the cooking grill. Good St Louis ribs take about 3 hours Baby backs 2 1/2 hours . Use either the Weber coal pans on each side for indirect cooking or bank all the coals on one side of the grill.

The nice thing about the Char-Griller Akorn is that they are insulated. I have no issues puutting in lump wood and pecan wood chunks and smoking something for 8= hours and not use all the charcoal. Some baby back ribs on my Akorn. It has another level that I can put on it that I can fit 3 pork shoulders in there at once.

Wow, what a thread. Thank you, guys. I look for a grill too. I believe it's gonna be the best and favourite thing in my summer house. So, I read lots of sources, articles, spent hours on Youtube, and finally found an article about the best infrared grills on this source. I think to get one of them. What are your thoughts on it? What attracts me most is their prices and features. Hopefully, I won't fail with the choice.

You'd be better off with a dime-store toaster-oven.

You can never cook enough food on a home grill to make the investment in even a low-priced model worthwhile.

On the one hand, you're stupid. On the other, cooking and grilling are two different things.

Grilling indoors is a Gaye mayor Pete fantasy.
Natural gas is too wimpy to handle hi speed exhaust fan.
(Jenn Air).
Side burners are bullshit too.
My nest grill? Propane char broil single.
No grease guard on burner(one).
Bought it at season end clearance.
