Stop Visible Learning at WSHS

Will someone from the county please stop the ridiculous visible learning initiative at WSHS? All of the teachers are ready to jump ship. This school has become a joke under the current administration. Students are not benefitting from this. So many great teachers have left or transferred. Such a travesty. Are other high schools being forced to follow this initiative? Or are we the only ones who are being bullied into doing this?

What can parents do to help the teachers? We keep hearing rumors about unhappy teachers who are planning to leave next year. Mr. Mukai seems completely out of touch with teachers, parents and students.

This is the way the misguided Mike Mukai thinks he will make a name for himself in the academic world. This is his pathway to no grades! It is crazy, will drive good teachers from the school, is bound to fail and in the end do the opposite of what he wants.
Parents and teachers need to take this to a higher level (politicians, media) and get it stopped.

I would be very scared to buy property in the West Springfield area right now. The value of homes is decreasing rapidly due to the plummeting reputation of WSHS. My real estate agent won't touch homes in that area anymore. All parents talk about is how terrible the school is. And the surrounding community isn't being updated and modernized like other local Northern Virginia towns. A shitty school with a terrible principal, crappy restaurants, no new homes being built, increasing poor, minority population. No wonder everyone is moving out to Loudoun County from this area. It's a totally different school and area from 10 years ago.

Be careful WSHS parents! My son had a horrible experience at WSHS with this visible learning nonsense. The teachers all hate it, but are afraid of retaliation from the principal. He has gone rogue - Visible Learning is NOT sanctioned by the FCPS School Board or the Superintendent. It must be stopped immediately before it jeopardizes more kids chances of getting into a decent college. Will ruin the future of your children!
