FCPS caring culture- no disruptive referrals

Although it may be aspirational to eliminate student discipline referrals...it may be causing school administrators to suppress referrals to meet this goal. Students will misbehave for a variety of reasons and teachers need to feel supported and safe to report student discipline referrals when they occur.

True, and our middle school lost a young teacher last year for this very reason. The administration is very reluctant to instill discipline. Excuses are made for behavior that is totally unacceptable.
The sad thing is that a disservice is being done to these young unruly students.....because we owe it to them to get them in line NOW, so that they are ready for adulthood. But the bureaucrats who run the schools probably don't really care about the students (only advancing their careers).
