Fairfax teacher arrested after being found with 15-year-old
September 21, 2009 - 5:07pm
FAIRFAX, Va. - A Fairfax County school teacher was arrested Sunday after being found in a car with a 15-year-old boy.
Twenty-seven year-old Valerie Roseler of Alexandria was charged with being drunk in public and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after an officer found her and the boy in the 7900 block of Gunston Hill Lane around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Roseler is a teacher at Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria. She is on unpaid administrative leave as a result of the incident.
The boy was not a Fairfax County Public School student. Police say Roseler and the boy met earlier this year.

ok first off i went there last year. She is not the Driver's Ed or sex ed teacher. I'm not sure what she taught but she didn't do P.E. The DIP charge I understand and the contributing to the DELINQUENCY of a MINOR is due to her having an underage kid under her care whom she is not a legal guardian of.

She joined the Hayfield staff this year as a middle school special education teacher. She's still listed on their website, although probably not for much longer:

The FCPD is saying there was no inappropriate conduct in the car...and that she did not give the boy alcohol. But that was this time. She better get a good lawyer and exercise her 5th amendment right. Right now she's basically up for two tickets, but they're digging for more charges now with search warrants of her home and cell phone records.

Let this be a lesson to all the crazy soccer moms who think their kid will be the next Mia Hamm. Maybe if you don't make your kid spend 10 years trying to get a soccer scholarship she might turn out normal. Maybe if VR had spent some time with 15 year old boys when she was 15, she would not be doing it now.
To be fair, competitive soccer in this area does bring you into contact with people who have profound effects on young lives, people like Ralph Shipler and Bernie McHale.
