Their investigation and arrest stemmed from tips provided by an anti-Trumper who used to work for the FEC and John McCain.
It will be interesting to find out exactly when they bought their one-way tickets. Rudy’s likely the one who tipped them off that they were being investigated and advised them to leave the country.

What these two American businessman are actually accused
of is contributing more than the allowed amount to the
Republicans. They have been big contributors for years
before Trump came along. Their latest business venture
is getting into the legal weed business, in Nevada, when

to have done is hide their excess contributions to Trump

They have ties to international investors, including at
least one who is a Russian. And maybe someone in Ukraine,
Russia's enemy. Ultimately, maybe some of the funds came
from someone in Russia. But there is no story about it
being anyting other than pure business -- business which
does not involve Trump. Nobody is making any such accusation.

How it works: If you make a big contribution to an
election campaign, you are probably getting invited
to one of the victory parties. (ALL the parties are
invite-only.) Maybe you will even get the chance
to meet the winner, if they actually appear at the
party, and for more than 2 seconds. Or in this case,
maybe you don't get to meet them. These guys have
been Republican donors for a long time.
What they most certainly want is less business

Becuse it's, you know, a federa crime to grpw and sell pot,
and it's hard (especial;y when they started) to do banking.
(If you're in that business, you basically can't open a bank
account! I remember all the NPR reports about the poor pot
growers who had to run their companies with cash literally
hidden under their mattress...) Anyway, what they seem
to have done is hide their excess contributions to Trump
2016 under the wrong company name (because otherwise it
would not be allowed,as it exceeded the amount of total
contributions. I think it was about $300,000.)
They have ties to international investors, including at
least one who is a Russian. And maybe someone in Ukraine,
Russia's enemy. Ultimately, maybe some of the funds came
from someone in Russia. But there is no story about it
being anyting other than pure business -- business which
does not involve Trump. Nobody is making any such accusation.
Except you, who don't evem know who they players are or what
countries they come from. Florida and Nevada have a lot of
Republicans ,but I am sorry to inform you that they are not
provinces of Russia.

Because that's not how this works.
That's not how any of this works.
How it works: If you make a big contribution to an
election campaign, you are probably getting invited
to one of the victory parties. (ALL the parties are
invite-only.) Maybe you will even get the chance
to meet the winner, if they actually appear at the
party, and for more than 2 seconds. Or in this case,
maybe you don't get to meet them. These guys have
been Republican donors for a long time.
What they most certainly want is less business
regulation, and lately, especially for pot.
This has to do with pot, not Russia.
