I have listened to the Junkies for years. Once when I was stuck in traffic, they had a great segment about NCAA football regarding paying the players. It was during this discussion that the diarrhea hit me. Spurt after spurt of putrid brown liquid was quickly soaked up by the driver’s seat, and I had to sit in my own filth for ages.

In the mid-90s they sometimes did their evening radio show at TGI Friday’s on Route 7, live. I went to one and it was a fun experience, but what wasn’t so fun was the aftermath of the loaded potato skins I had ordered... diarrhea. What seemed like gallons of it exploded all over the tiny restroom, and it burned so bad I was both crying and yelling.

The Junkies are great. I had some tough times a couple of years back (AIDS-related), and they always got me through. I was a frequent caller at one point, and they often ribbed me about my full-blown AIDS. I went from being ashamed of my life-threatening disease to being bed-ridden full time. Because of the AIDS.
