Cell Phones were becoming a thing, but you still had to interact with people face to face to get by and make connections. I try to strike up a conversation with at least one stranger a day, but people are so connected to their fucking phones and scared to talk to those outside their network it’s almost impossible to do it without getting scared or annoyed looks on people’s faces.
