We pay $130 every two weeks for a little over 3000 sqft. Used to have a cheaper service but their work was spotty. These guys are reliable, thorough, and professional. You get what you pay for.

New world cleaning, they are based out of Fairfax and I find them to be very fair on pricing. I am a Realtor and use them 90% of the time.

If you can muster a little Spanish, you can get a better price, the services take about half the cost to send the maid over.

I don't get paying someone to come in to 'clean' when you have to clean up before they come. They don't pick up all the crap people leave around. If you don't clear off the tables and floors, they don't get cleaned. Hell, once you've picked up your shit, it's easy to run a vacuum through the space and wipe down the tables. Most of the work is cleaning up for the cleaners to come. Waste of money.

We use New World. $100 for a townhouse, excluding unfinished basement.

They do a good job, but they are really spotty on the billing and if you want them to do something specific, you're out of luck because the language barrier is pretty serious.

I can also recommend these guys for windows cleaning http://leedswindowcleaningservices.com/ I learned about from a friend about a year ago and I’ve kept calling them once in a while because they do a very nice job and their rates are average. Many say that you are better of doing it yourself but the time and effort you save really makes up for the money you spend.

Not all lazy, some are elderly or disabled with limited mobility.

Agree with you about having a company who is licensed, bonded, and insured. Problem is the larger corporate ones higher likely getting workers who do not speak English well as there is a limited supply of workers who do this kind of work. In searching around, look for a company whose home office is in an area with a lower Hispanic population, obviously not Herndon. If no reasonable choice nearby, always ask them to send one worker who speaks English reasonably well. Most companies will comply. Housecleaning is a personal service, and there are often too many particulars about your home to explain over the phone sight unseen.

Personally, I can’t entrust the cleaning to someone else if it’s not a hotel room. I don’t want strangers to touch my things .. I'm lazy but prefer to clean myself
