they still are to this day! when the KGB reorganized with after the fall of the USSR, Putin managed to hold on to several of his most critical east german sleepers in the DC area by releasing the rozenholz files as a bluff. clifton reminds the cold war relics of their native bavarian hunting lodges so they go there to retire while their offspring carry on the mission
