Why Are All The Jerrry's Pizzas Closing ?
Posted by: Slacker ()
Date: May 31, 2014 10:03AM

Having Slung Pizza at Ledos and Pizza hut back in the day I know good and bad pizza.

Why are the Jerry's closing ? The pizza is terrible but the wings and sandwhitches aren't bad.

In the past year I've seen the following ones close

Burke , Next to the Wallmart

Fairfax , Faircity Mall

Annandale , Down on 236 .

They food was not good. Prices high. Ambiance nonexistent. No connection to their customers or the community. Just disappointing on every level. I always wondered how they could sustain in a market with so many other better options. Their subs were worse than Subway and that's a pretty low bar, IMO. Their pizza was worse than the cheapest frozen pizza out there.

I will not miss Jerry's and hope that something better fills it's space.

Somebody is looking for "ambiance" at a fast-casual outlet? That says something, doesn't it. Meanwhile Jerry's has been around for 60 years and they have nearly 140 outlets. Obviously lots of people (young and old) like their food much better than you do. But please do tell us the better ideas that you have for what a fast-casual outlet should be. That might be helpful.

Their food sucks. And that's all.

The pizza sucked, but their subs were much better than subways. Just way too expensive, like $14 add in their dank ass jalapeno poppers and your near $20 for a fast food meal.

You can add the one at Sully Plaza to the list. It is now a Noodles and Company, which I think is equally as gross.

The pizza blows, everything is expensive and the fries may be the worst fried potato product ever offered for sale.

Pretty much every casual dining outlet has a style or intentional vibe. Jerry's subs was just dreary and always seemed dirty.

Skimpy portion of meat on the steak and cheese for the money. As far as price it seems it takes over 10 bucks for a working mans road lunch today.

Price more than anything. A steak & cheese sub should not cost $11-$12

That's Obama's Hope and Change for you! He vowed to destroy American businesses, and the weakest ones will be the first to go. Wait until Obamacare kicks in for businesses, and again when Obama raises the min. wage to $15/hr. Bye, bye, jobs and businesses! Hello Cuban-style prosperity and freedoms!

Stop ordering the foot-long double-steak, double-bacon, double-American, double-provolone "Fat Daddy", you flabby-assed moron. A regular steak-and-cheese with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and mayo is $7.29. That plus a regular fries and a regular soda is $8.99.

Don't bother, assfuck. It's already clear that you know nothing at all about the regional economy or about economics in general. You can go back to thumb-sucking now.

Are you sure you are not a hopelessly ignorant fucktard? That would certainly be the first impression of any actually rational human being.

It was way to expensive for the quality of food. Over 12 bucks for a sub that wasn't worth 7. I'm surprised it lasted this long

A Few 5 guys might be going that route also. $650 for a fucking hamburger $350 for fries is not worth it. It's funny how a few extra dollars just makes you say fuck it, I'm going somewhere else.

If Jerry's is too expensive for you. 7/11 might actually be your high-end outlet.

Yes they are. Concepts come, are popular a while then go. Thats the whole fast food industry except the biggies have their food labs and can come out with new items and advertise all over plus there well entrenched survivors of the fast food wars.

Jerry's is near the low-end, dude. There isn't much beneath them. If they are over your head, you're looking at 7/11 and the Dollar Store as your go-to luxury outlets. Sucks to be you.

Better alternatives to Jerrys for similar price

Chipotle (why many older fast foods chains/stores are struggling long lines wherever one is located)
Potbelly's/Jimmy Johns (cheaper and better)
Panera (mosty for chicks)
Noodles and Company/Roti/Asian Fast Food etc
Five Guys/Elevation Burger/Smash Burger/ etc

They are closing because their food is terrible and overpriced (yes, I know, it's not that expensive, but you can get food of much better quality for the same or less elsewhere). Their radio ad shtick doesn't play anymore because no one under 35 listens to terrestrial radio on a regular basis, and it's dated, anyway. They have nothing to offer.
