Shutdown and the democrats

the most likely ways the shutdown ends, in order of probability:

1. democrats give Trump at least $3.5 billion for a wall/fence

2. Senate and House pass budget with no funding for wall, send to Trump, he vetos, they overide

3. Trump caves

Does anyone think Trump will cave at this point? Wouldn't it be easier to just give him the $3.5 billion and reopen this thing? Both Pelosi and Schumer have voted for border wall funding in the past, at levels higher than the $5.7 bil that Trump is asking for.

That's why it's obvious the dems are to blame for the ongoing shutdown

By whopping margins such as 53-29, polls are showing that the public blames LYING ASSHOLE TRUMP for the shutdown, just as he said we should. This is just another bit of CHAOS that TRUMP has DELIBERATELY created.

No, but I'm a big boy. I can read the papers. The public blames Trump. For the shutdown. By large margins. What we, the people. are trying to say here is -- Fuck Coulter and Limbaugh -- Fuck the stupid wall. Get the government back open again. All of it.

This thread so clearly proves that the US has too may lemmings whose thinking is polluted by party politics. They need someone to do their thinking for them. They think they speak for the majority and puff put out their audacious hubris with evasive moral superiority when challenged with logic. They call themselves Democrats and Republicans...with fierce pride. They are the collective cancer that threatens the individual from two sides, the right and the left. Fight them, for they fear you. They claim they fight for America, but they fight for themselves.

Trump's written 2019 budget still calls for $1.6 billion. No formal request for additional money has been received by the US Congress. Such a request would require actual thought about what will be built and where. The Trump Administration has had 10 months to update its budget request and hasn't... There is nothing to discuss until the Trump Administration actually says specifically what the additional $4 billion is for.

Or the GOP Senate can do its job and put together a border package which has specifics. Tough to do when the experts they might ask ARE NOT IN THE OFFICE...

Even in Latin, all you demonstrate is that you're a fumbling wannabe of no actual substance at all.

It was Republican Speaker Ryan who said he wouldn't let a bill go forward in the House that the President wouldn't sign at the end of the last Congress. It is Senate Majority Leader McConnell who won't let it go forward this Congress. So what you are saying is that it is REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP IN CONGRESS that is to blame.

Dude, Ryan was and McConnell still is an asshole, but they are just doing the bidding of FFL -- Fucked-up Fearless Leader.

and yet, Ryan did let a bill go forward that the president supported last Congress. Why you lie so much round eye?

Trump lies to everyone. Ryan and the lately bitch-slapped McConnell are no exceptions.

Wow. Paul Ryan let one whole bill go to the President! No wonder the Republicans got their butts kicked in the 2018 election. To be fair Ryan did get a bill through the House including one that averted a shutdown last fall before the election.

On the December shutdown vote the GOP controlled House voted for a bill that everyone knew could not pass without major changes in the Senate. When the Senate reworked the bill it passed with a large bipartisan majority. It was the reworked bill that Donald Trump said he would not sign, and that Paul Ryan then refused to allow a vote on in December.

The current budget request from DHS only asks for $1.6 billion... The Congress explicitly agreed to what DHS explicitly is asking for...

https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/DHS%20BIB%202019.pdf

"$1.6 billion for 65 miles of new border wall construction in the Rio Grande Valley Sector to deny access to drug trafficking organizations and illegal migration flows in high traffic zones where apprehensions are the highest along the Southwest Border. "
