back when, people had heated gloves and heated blankets too

why is you were outside allot longer and inside wasn't 74, wasn't 70 - it was 68 if you were lucky, and wherever you went might be 64 or less in some store. few had the cash or insulation needed for 74.

many had the heated blankets because they COULD NOT afford the heating bill

heated gloves were a luxury people with extra money might get for Christmas

I know "spiffy" as an adjective. "Spiff" could come from that, but I mostly know "spiff" as a noun, related to sales.

Is this some new adjectival use of the word, or just OP?
