i know some folks who live a stone’s throw away from the intracoastal waterway near Topsail, probably 50 yards or less to the water. for the past two days they were ranting about the fake media trying to scare people and decided to ride it out. they posted some pics last night around 7 and it already looked bad. i can imagine they’re probably some of the dummies calling for rescue today.

Channel 7 has included a picture of those that were dumb enough to stay and now "need rescue".

Which is more ridiculous. The person on the Carolina coast who should have evacuated but didn't or the person in the DMV who stocked up for a major huricane and ended up getting only a hint of rain.

I was watching CNN earlier and they showed a rescue helicopter, but at the bottom of the screen it said something accusing Trump supporters of being racists.

The WJLA article posted by "good news" shows a picture of a woman at the Trent Court Apartments in New Bern on her porch watching the rising water.

Trent Court Apartments is a public housing complex which is right on the banks of the Trent River. They're nearly 80 years old (they were originally built in 1940-41) and prone to flooding.

Likely most of the people there don't have the several hundred dollars in cash to spend a week holed up in a motel further inland, and a fair number of them probably don't even own a car.

There's also the unspoken truth that anyone who was gone for a week would probably have all their shit stolen by the local scumbags.

If you have money, you have options. If you don't, well, you're just fucked.
