My vote- tie between Bon Chon and Popeye's!!!!!

If you're black, then Popeyes is the best. But Popeyes does not serve their premium chicken to white people. White people's chicken orders come from the other bin. Someday I am gonna find a way to get some of their premium chicken.

Bojangles. There's not one in FFX County, but if you live in Springfield or further east it's worth the drive to Oxon Hill.

I don't know about this whitepeopleblackpeople crap. That's just a diversion. Fried chicken is serious stuff.

If you're talking fast food, what's left in Fairfax is KFC (the Colonel) and Popeyes (Cajun). They're very different, but both are exactly what they are: good fried chicken.

The latino joints can make a mean chicken, but it ain't American fried chicken.

If you can find a Roy Rogers (Leesburg and Manassas come to mind), they're fried chicken is very good. It is either the same recipe as Pappy Parker, or something very close (the recipe is probably owned by Marriott).

I don't know where Bojangles is.

Church's is gone (sorry Choosy Chicken Lovers).

As for non-fast-food, you have to look around. Usually at Chinese places, the fried chicken will taste like fish. Hard Times is now making fried chicken. The diners also make it decent.

Of course, then you got your "wings" joints, and that's a whole 'nother ball game.

P.S. Gotta say, my preference is Popeyes. Look for coupons.

Fried chicken is like pizza or pancakes. You like what you grew up with and that's entirely personal. If any two people have the same favorite fried chicken, it's a matter of coincidence in their individual upbringing. So everyone has done the marvels of mass production. Go down to Flavors Soul Food at Bailey's Crossroads (a little east of Route-7 on the left). Get a little different spin on the stuff. Get some homemade sweet tea, too!

The KFC double down burger uses fried chicken instead of bread and is available for a limited time at KFC. At only 68 grams of fat it is better for you than a triple whopper.

Don't know about the crack or the slaw, but the chicken at the Shoppers at Pickett and 236 at least is surprisingly good. At least at the moment.

Every now and then I have to get a bucket of Greasy KFC original. Eat some set the rest in the fridge and eat it over a couple days. Not bad. Cooked well.Origanal KFC seasoning lick it from the bones on the breasts.Good stuff still after all these years. Getting high in price and it looks like sales are off.

Churches? Forget it. My parents got the shits eating there in Falls Church many years back. Not cooked enough for me.

Popeyes? Another one worth forgetting too juicy too loose for me I want my chicken cooked.

Roy Rodgers.. good stuff but high.

Holly Farms very good with the peanut oil frying and taters, but long gone.

Old Country Buffet so so frozen chicken you can tell the taste of frozen yard bird.

Shoppers Food Fried Chicken , tasty well fried good season and Done. Good and Cheap too.

The Best?? Sorry also long gone Horn and Horn Buffet in Annandale. Crispy great seasoning, well done excellent.

So Shoppers is #1 Today. KFC #2. Roys #2 tied.

Okay if you are scared to ask a negro on the street. Just go to chicken place, if you see a lot a negros there it is good, see none it is bad. If you see a lot at all places count the number of negros you see per hour (NPH - negro per hour) is you best indicator.

Be careful at them high NPH places, they usually run out quickly and shit starts.

If you see a lot of "negros" at a chicken place, it most likely means that you are in a "negro" neighborhood. And in your case, unlikely to get out without a broken bone or two. The stench of a worthless "honky" asshole is powerful, you know.

I agree with the fellow that pointed out the Negro Per Hour rate. For your standard KFC franchise location, 55-70 Is a good NPH. It means the chicken is being made fresh. A low NPH means you will get stale chicken.

Make sure you use the drive thru for your order and talk in a loud black voice when you are placing your order. "Yo. Ki git twaaaaaylve piece uh bucket wit uh lodge grape fanta." This will ensure proper and efficient customer service.

Why in the world would the location of Flavors scare anyone? Such a ridiculous statement. This white girl takes her white kids there. Go there if you want good chicken, sides, and sweet tea.

Texas Ribs and BBQ in Clinton MD has the best fried chicken in the area and it's only 12 miles from Old Town Alexandria, VA

So I saw a lot of people saying Bon Chon was good so I went there yesterday. Looked very different inside as they opened up another wall and it was a sit down place. Had their chicken with soy garlic sauce. Huge pieces and crispy with the sauce and so good! Portion was pretty big and huge salad too. I was impressed and will return. I didn't try the wings so let me know if those are any good.
