GOOGLE is well known to have been an acting player in what is known as "The Linux Wars", where linux contributions "attacked itself or rather GNU coders and users" in ways beneficial to top players such as china, germany, google. * disabled Unix's Mandatory Access Control which is a military specification (called passwords colloquially)

* replaced MAC with DAC, discretionary access control: this allows "chained access" (potentially right back to google's chain keys). the issue (which i argue they planned in advance) is that chained access allows SECURITY BREACH if there's any flaw in any of the software. but we all know they've been releasing bugs in all of their softwares regularly including in security software. the ONLY conclusion is they disabled MAC and replaced it with DAC as a form of ESPIONAGE. no other conclusion is possible.

"ACL lists", "ACL permissions" are a terms used in DAC

chain access means your key is chained to other keys (ie system keys google has keys to)

if there's a failure anywhere, the whole chain becomes completely exposed / useless and accessible

the "chain" only works if there is no bug / failure anywhere

MANDATOR ACCESS CONTROL on the other hand is enforced by the CPU itself (assuming the OS is not written by foreign invaders), and the MAC code is well known to be unbreakable because it's simple enough to read and has been read by many.

(note: i'm not suggesting MAC itself is sufficient to protect data. however it's original purpose is to prevent software form causing damage to hardware (overheating, overclocking, etc), and it can do so perfectly)

All of them, while struggling to make their initial success softwares, had to weigh thought the damage caused by "software wars". (the unix wars, the microsoft against unix wars, the linux wars)

Some of these "majors" perhaps became part of the problem. Some were enabled to develop personal projects on other peoples time and money (and other's contributed code) they didn't compensate to become a success. However what's true overall is they all suffered (lockups, years of reading, playing sneaker net), with their systems struggling to get past TAMPERING done during these technology wars.

I don't think you'll find any of them saying "there's no such thing as the software wars" or that "they were never inconvenienced by software wars"
