To all County Volunter Firefighters
Posted by: Johnny Blaze ()

Just because you ride a fire truck, or an ambulance, this doesn't make you a better person. It makes you a person who rides a fire engine or an ambulance. You should remember that, remember you are volunteering, not getting paid for your services. Your time as a volunteer is fleeting, your time is finite. You aren't better than those you say you are to help, you are the same, you just happen to ride a fire truck or ambulance.

So when your abode catches on fire, you can grab your garden hose and then we will discuss who's better.

The people who use hoses and provide emergency medical assistance for a living and and get paid for are the ones who are better. When you show up once or twice a month to play firefighter or EMT, your skills aren't the same. And oh, the chances you get a volunteer to respond to your house fire are slim to none in this county.

So what are your skills? What exactly do you do to make the world a better place? What do you do to make your community a safer place? Besides bust the balls of people who are at least trying to do something, no matter how many times a month they show up to do it.

Why are you so bitter with the volunteers? Enlighten us please, instead of just leaving a vague post that is clearly geared toward someone who has wrinkled your panties into a wad.

There is not one volunteer in this county who can come to the skills of a paid firefighter. Those who like to play firefighter/EMT are the ones who will burn your house down or kill a member of your family because they don't use their skills every day. There is no need for a volunteer system in Fairfax.

I make the world a better place by serving as a paramedic in Fairfax. I watch lower skilled volunteers show up and unable to do the basic skills they say they can do. It's a joke.

So instead of bitching about their skills, how about you spend some of your quality time helping train them the right way.

Really, why are you so bitter? What happen to your all on the same team?

There is no need for volunteers in Fairfax, they are a resource drain on the system. Semi-skilled volunteers are no good.

Are they taking calls away from you? Are they taking money out of your paycheck? Are they causing you to get more sleep at night cause the bell is not ringing at your station?

I have news for you, if my house is burning down, I don't care if the guy on the truck is paid or volunteer. I am sure he can point a hose and shoot water at a fire just as well as you can.

OP, your problem is that you're fat and you're angry. You have no friends, no social life, and you couldn't pass the physical to be either a volunteer or career firefighter or EMT in this county. Cut back on the food, try to walk every day, gather the courage to say hello to your neighbors, and you'll feel much better about yourself.

Went to volunteer. Already certified, so wasn't looking for a freebie. Demanded participation at bingo night as a stipulation for remaining active.

Sorry, I have a life. No time for bingo.

These so called volunteers can't even find the time to work bingo, and if they do, they are pissed off about it the whole time. They are pissed they have to raise money to keep their fire trucks on the road and deal with the people they have sworn to protect. Hypocrites. They want to slip a radio on and look cool and tell people how cool they are being a volunteer. If you love it, go get a paycheck and do it.

The OP is clearly a lib. He gets pissed off at the fact that there are people who actually help other people and enjoy doing it. That goes against everything liberals believe in.

Those dumb blue hairs will drop if you go enough. They are also the same jerks you run on a regular basis.

Being on an ambulance or an engine or a truck doesnot make me feel better than anyone else, but it sure gets the girls horny.

As a taxpayer, I want the most trained, most proficient firefighter or paramedic to come to my house during an emergency. Someone who rides fire trucks and ambulances as a hobby, part time, does not instill me with confidence.

I went to volunteer with state cert EMT-B, PHTLS and TC3 Instructor quals, not to mention having performed (on more than one occasion) in the field trauma response in Iraq.

I wanted to do it to keep my skills as fresh as humanly possible while I finished college. I guarantee you my "hobby" is a lot more than you'll get from any of the full time medics in Fairfax.

1- Call times would remain consistent for the Fire and Rescue Department. Citizens would see no impact on services.

2- The County would have to purchase more fire apparatus to offset the apparatus the volunteers purchase.

3- The quality of EMS care would remain consistent if not improve as more paramedics would be hired to replace the volunteer EMTs who can only provide the most basic of care (Basic Life Support)and in most cases, simply transport people for the Advanced Life Support providers.

4- Some County fire stations would need an influx of maintenance costs to offset volunteer costs on the stations.

5- The County is already in the process of taking over on volunteer station, Lorton, as there are no volunteers.

6- The County would save money for training firefighters and EMTs who finish training and never ride an ambulance or fire truck. Training would be provided to employees who would stay in the system.

Overall, the citizens would see no difference in the fire and emergency services within the County.

The county would have to purchase all the volunteer stations in Fairfax, including, in many cases, all the rolling equipment inside the station.

This would cost so much money that the astrofurf budget for playing fields would be affected...

I'd say more than that. The rolling stock the volunteers own isn't a lot. Most of the volunteer units are second tier, reserve units, though not all.

I take it the volunteers don't fix and maintain these units themselves out of pocket, do they? Do they pay for the fuel themselves? I think they use the county to cover those costs, my tax dollars for this "free" service.

I pay for their training as well. How many of these people stay with the fire department more than a year after they complete training? Five years? Seems like a money dump to pay to train people who leave to go take a firefighter job elsewhere, or just drop out. If there were more career people I don't think this would be an issue.

Is it true that volunteer firefighters kill more people than they save?

Absolutely. Communities with volunteers have more fatalities than those with professionals.

Right...the DC fire dept is all "professional..."

I'd take a half-wit volunteer any day over a DC Firefighter

Slut redhead? That can only be Kayla from station 22. She goes down on everyone.

Some firefighters who get a paycheck aren't professional in any way.

With the county taking over Lorton, due in part to the lack of volunteers, do they have the right to seize the building? Does the county have the power to do that if a volunteer station isn't making enough money to keep the building safe and in good condition?

Looks like she won an award for more hours a few years back. That's kind of a joke when you realize many of those hours are spent sleeping at the fire station. In her case, probably fucking at the fire station as well.

How about this volunteer firefighter over in fauquier. She supposedly stole over 50 grand from her firehouse. That is money that was raised from the community through bingo, bake sales and people who give money because it is the right thing to do.

A Fauquier County Circuit Court special grand jury Wednesday indicted the former Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department secretary/treasurer on 13 felony counts of embezzlement.

"Kimberly Ann Strayer, 42, of Sumerduck allegedly stole $54,816 from the fire company.

The thefts took place from May 2012 through Oct. 21 of last year, according to court documents.

The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation Nov. 13, after fire company leaders contacted investigators to say, “We’ve got a problem,” Lt. James Hartman said.

Fire department officers “turned over several financial records showing questionable withdrawals,” sheriff’s Detective Michael R. Zeets wrote in an affidavit for search warrants.

Mrs. Strayer deposited Goldvein volunteer funds into her personal checking accounts, Sgt. Zeets added."

These volunteer organizations are rife with this sort of thing, yes even the VFDs. So which is better, paying taxes or contributing to an organization where the people can steal your money to do whatever they want with it.

Pretty much all professional firefighters and EMTs start out as volunteers, unless you got trained in the military.

Or just hired straight up as a firefighter. Some serve as police officers first, or in the parks department and they don't volunteer. When Fairfax starts giving bonus points on applications like other jurisdictions do to volunteers, you'll see more home grown volunteers apply.

Because someone who makes a career out of being a firefighter, EMT or paramedic started as a volunteer means very little in the long run. Many of these people shun their volunteer background and are the worst volunteer haters out there. Some career staff are very nice to volunteers because they started as volunteers as well. We're talking about human nature more than anything else. If all the other people on your shift hate volunteers, you will too, even if you are/were one. Your skills will not be any better or worse if you were a volunteer, in fact, many places don't want you to have prior experience because they want to teach you their way, not the way you learned it somewhere else.

It is a shame Fairfax FRD does not hire a few volunteers a year. These are people who they have already trained and spent thousands of dollars on to become firefighters, to re-train them again as firefighters. It seems like a waste of money.

Kimberly Ann Strayer lost her job in county government, where she had worked six years processing ambulance billing for volunteer rescue squads.

That should be dildo collection. This chick loves 'em, it's like she has stock in a company that makes them.

Kayla would have decent tits if she weren't pushing 200lbs on her tiny ass frame.
Bottom teeth are too jacked up and will nick you. As for just laying there, don't remind me

A buddy of mine sent me this link, so here's my story. Kayla and I hooked up about 3 years ago, later 2011. She's really drunk and keeps telling me how she gives great blowjobs and how she can deepthroat it and do all this stuff with her tongue. She's a bit bigger than I like, but I figured what the heck, she seems into it. Well, the blowjob was like having my dick in a salad bowl..., just nothing going on, so I want to get to straight fucking because that will work. She tells me to "fuck her rough" and when I go for a condom, she freaks out. She begs me to come inside her because it feels so much better and gives her an orgasm. So, I figure why not, I'll go bareback and finish outside anyway. I could barely get through those meatflaps, they are as jacked up as her teeth. Next, she just lays there, so I bang harder and harder and nothing. She makes some face, but there is nothing going on. I pull out and she gets mad at me, so I hightail it out of there. I ran into her later and I was actually embarrassed when I saw her. I could not believe I fucked that. I heard later I "didn't count" because she was so drunk she wouldn't have done it in the first place.

As for the tits, yeh, big, but on that frame, no worth it. All in all, nothing was worth it. She talks a good game, but I bet since she loves going bareback, she has got all sorts of bugs.

Hahaha, no, he has no idea she's the station, heck, department bicycle. Everyone has had a ride. She'll get knocked up soon and have to give up being an EMT within a year. Bank on it.

I saw her at one of the fire department dinners earlier this year wearing a dress about two sizes two small. She was muffin topping fat at her shoulders. Looked like a mess. I wonder who she went home with that night.

Two things I heard from this chick on more than one occasion while filling a tour at 22: "I'll try anything once" and "people tell me I give good oral". I don't know if either are true but from what I've read here, yes to the first, no to the second.

Yea if girls are supposed to have an hourglass figure, she's got the figure of a keg. She's got some serious daddy/ex issues. Kinda sad she was always hanging around with Gracie thinking she was hot shit. Gracie is decent looking (a solid 7) but makes Kayla look even more like the troll who lives under the bridge.

Her brother Alex is a sweet kid, but is totally oblivious to the fact his sister is a raging slut. It was a bit of a running joke when I was there. Someone should send him a link to this thread.

Don't be fooled by the chive shirt. Notice it stops at her tits. Thats cause her gut comes out almost as far

Daddy issues would explain a lot. She is practically obsessed with having the most operational hours, to the point of being at the station an insane amount if hours. She needs to let people she is in charge, is an Aide, can drive, is the only one at the station who can do anything. The place would fall apart without her!!! She wears these tight tshirts which look ridiculous with that big belly. Her tits and belly are the same size, it's weird.

yea she started to go into it once after a couple too many vodka cranberries. some daddy and ex issues.

I hope to fuck she isn't in charge of anything, cause i remember her not being the most organized or calmest under pressure individual.

I jumped to a neighbor county's volunteer operation to get the hell away from the politics that are rampant at 22, and (IMO) driving it into the ground. If they gave a county position they might as well just dissolve the station.

Yea i skipped the crab feast a few weeks back. Wasn't in the mood for that shit show. I rationalize the fact i fucked her a a few times over the years by blaming alcohol and concussions.

I'm pretty sure the only way some is climbing on top of her is in an alcohol haze. Those tits she's flashing and so proud of look good after a bunch of beers and turning the light off. Hard to believe this is who they want on the Board making decisions and training future Aides, drivers and who knows what. She is terrible under pressure, but, since 22 is so messed up in so many other ways, it makes sense in a way.

As a female volunteer firefighter/EMT in the FRD, this is an embarrassment. I have been with the department seven years and only had two run-ins with this woman. Both times made very uncomfortable as she was abrasive, condescending and downright rude to other FF's (who had tenure, but we're not in charge of an ambulance). She was also crass and had no filter, saying disgusting and inappropriate comments, all sexual in nature. I will never work with her again. She is the type who makes it tough on all of us.

yea those tits are decent till the shirt comes off and the gut comes out. she's got a gut that's as big as some of the old timers there. such a waste. and the lower half of her is just a tragedy.

Trust me she does not. I've made that mistake on more than a few occasions since she popped up at 22. She's sucked/fucked a healthy fraction of the station's male population (i'll leave setting the percentage/fraction to people currently posted there since i've moved on) but in her case practice does not make perfect. even cows go into heat.

I don't know anything about her hooking up with girls though so can't comment on that

Damn, Station 22 sounds like a real hothouse...at our station we just, you know, assist people in emergencies...

I'd say she's worked through pretty much all collies and jumps on any new career member, single or married. There was a story of her doing both medics on shift in the unit over at Soringfield Mall more than once. I'd believe it.
