At the end of April, environmentally-conscious citizens in Washington, DC head to Earth Day on the National Mall to band with thousands of other peers to raise awareness about the world’s changing environment.
Earth Day on the National Mall is one of the many events celebrating Earth Day around the globe and draws local and international celebrities, civic leaders, and politicians. Earth Day on the National Mall features performances by popular music acts, speeches from the celebrities in attendance, a youth rally, voter registration, renewable energy demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and embassy and non-profit booths.
Earth Day on the National Mall is free to attend and usually runs from about 12pm-7pm. Earth Day on the National Mall’s main stage is set up within steps of the Washington Monument and the Reflecting Pool.
