Missing Man Last Seen in Falls Church
Help sought in week-old disappearance, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators are hoping that the public can help locate a missing Sterling man, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Steven Batdorff, 60, was last seen April 16 by a friend in the 300 block of West Colombia Street in Falls Church. He currently lives on Mayapple Place in Sterling.
The Sheriff's Office notes that Batdorff is considered endangered, but no foul play is suspected.
Batdorff may have been in the area of Montgomery Village, Md., on Thursday, April 17, according to a LCSO release. Detectives are working to determine if he had any ties to that area.
Anyone who has any information regarding the possible whereabouts of Steven Batdorff can call Det. Promisel of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-0475.

Interesting, in another report it lists him as endangered but not in the others. They need to release more details, such as the vehicle he's driving and the license plate #. Something useful like that.

According to a google search, he worked at CSC - Computer Sciences Corp, but his email is Dyncorp, which I think was bought by CSC, so yes, he worked for a contractor. What are you suggesting?

Batdorff worked as a program manager for a government contractor. He was a professional. He was not one of those "contractors" you pick up at a 7-11 to install drywall.

Steve is a great person. I worked for him 18 years ago and he is one of the best managers I have ever worked for. He is well educated, kind, fair, and full of enthusiasm. I pray he is found in good health.

Did he work on anything top secret or classified? Reports say he may have been in Montgomery Village around the time of his disappearance. Did he know anyone there? Did he have health problems? Reports say he is endangered but they don't say why or how.

Call Fairfax County and Falls Church police. They are NOT going tell you where he was found (if he was) or much of the details, but I think they would release the info if either there is still an active search or if he is deceased.

I was told by the officer handling his case that he was no longer with us. I've tried desperately to find out what had happened to him with very little to go on to no avail. I know his mothers name is Kay I didnt talk to family because I'm a old girlfriend and didn't think it would be proper to bother them in their grief didn't know how they would except me. Steve has always had a part of my heart and if you call on the family would you please let me know, as I would want to visit his final resting place. I am very sincerely concerned and trying to deal with them with compassion, getting an understanding of what happened without having them revisit their pain. It does not seem to me that a bull-in-the-china-shop approach is kind. Apparently, you do.
