If you go to Eisenhower Rd. the creek that runs along side it is a good place. Especially in the box culverts that carry the creek beneath the road way. You can fill a 5 gallon bucket on a good day. Easy access to all you can eat.

Do you realize what kinds of pollutants are in the creek? Help yourself at your own risk but I wouldn't do it..

Yes, Hot N Juicy, 116 W. Broad Street. Falls Church City, though.

The creek in Annandale too...just inside the beltway there are some flat areas with lots of rocks. Just ignore any of the mexican bodies you see in the woods on the way in and out.

I think they have delicious crawfish nuggets at Arthur Treachers.

Yes I would never eat them but the OP may if he likes. Either way, when I was working on Metro when they were building Huntington Station one of my jobs was to cut holes in the culverts to install new storm pipes. This involved jack hammering holes in the walls to accept the new piping. When we were running the jack hammer thousands of crawfish came walking toward us. I collected a bunch and used them for bait.

Not Fairfax, but Beaverdam reservoir in Loudoun used to have a ton. Have not been there since they drained and refilled it.

A couple years ago I was at my kid's elementary school for the science fair. A couple Fairfax County Parks guys were there, and they'd brought along a big fish tank and filled it up and dumped in a bunch of fish and crayfish they'd caught in Cub Run to teach the kids about aquaculture. They had caught the biggest flipping crayfish I'd ever seen in my life. The thing was over 7.5 inches long. I asked the guy and he shrugged and said kids don't really fish or play in the creeks anymore, so they find some big ones kind of often.

Occoquan under the 123 bridge has some monsters. I put in there to paddle and have seen some that look like juvenile lobsters come out of the rocks.
