Firefighters battled a blaze Saturday evening at the El Pollo Rico restaurant on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge.

The fire shut down busy Minnieville Road and left severe damage to the popular Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken eatery near Smoketown Road.

Readers on our Facebook page reported smelling smoke for miles around the scene.

There were no reported injuries. Details on the extent of damage and what caused the blaze were not available late Saturday.

Firefighters were on the scene for hours.
