Man killed in Loudoun County wreck

A 45-year-old Philomont man was killed early Saturday in a single-vehicle wreck on Route 7 in Loudoun County.

State police say it happened at 12:18 a.m. just beyond Yellow Schoolhouse Road.

Eddie W. Todd, 45, was traveling along Route 7 when he lost control of his 2005 Nissan Titan and ran off the right side of the road into a ditch. The truck overturned and Todd was partially ejected, said state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller. Todd was pronounced dead at the scene.

Geller said speed was a factor in the crash.

Does "partially ejected" mean that a seatbelt wasn't being worn?

Read the initial post. A Nissan Titan.

Poor Eddie, soon he'll be haunting that stretch of road. Bringing all new meaning to "Fast Eddie's".

You missed the point, joe. Grammatically, the sentence reads like Eddie Todd was driving a "Loudoun County wreck" at a high rate of speed during which time he was killed. That's ok. If our professional writers don't get it, I wouldn't expect most others to get it either. But Pbd4n did before I did, so I'm not bustin your balls.

...and we lost a speedster with an obvious disregard for the speed limit and our safety, so move along liberal.

Speeding and no seatbelt at 12:18am. Alcohol will be discovered as a factor as well. Hard to come up with any sympathy for old Eddie. Another death caused by stupidity.

The way out of this trap (the ambiguity of the word "wreck") would be to use the word crash or accident. It is preferred to use crash instead of accident since accident implies that there are unforeseeable circumstances.

Most of these comments are a testament to the ignorance and callousness of humanity these days. Eddie, as far as I knew, was a good and decent person who worked a good job, helped his friends, had two children and simply made the, albeit, stupid mistake of not wearing a seatbelt. I know exactly where this accident happened, I drive by it daily and see the skid marks. What the effing police report doesn't say is that he maneuvered radically from the left lane through the right lane before hitting the ditch, flying through the air and overturning, which is when he was probably 'partially ejected.' the deer HAVE claimed many lives there as the area is a well known deer crossing. Loudoun lost another stellar friend a few years back when a deer came through her windshield. So you asshats that live in your concrete jungle need to step back, check your ignorance and how 'bout you don't wonder out here with your limo-drunk busses on your way to our vineyards acting like the bunch of useless city slickers you are. And please, for gods sake, don't actually drive out here cause you cant deal with the hazards that are daily life to us who've lived here all our lives. You suck. Please stay east. We don't want you here.

I was merely expressing my concern for the safety of people using that stretch of road. In your case though I would be willing to make an exception.

You're an ass clown, so don't act like you represent Loudoun residents. First of all, your grammar is atrocious. Second, I live within 2 miles of the accident and I am completely aware of and accepting of the risk of driving in the area. Third, if those "city slickers are on limo-drunk busses" [I hope I deciphered your gibberish correctly] that means the chose to have someone else drive AND they are spending their money in your county at your neighbor' businesses.

Eddie was a deer friend. Too bad they turned on him.

1.you may want to give your response a second read and do a little self editing as well.
2. I'm sure any of us who live in the area are aware of the risks, I wasn't addressing locals.
3. Your superior reading comprehension apparently helped to understand what I was saying, but sadly my grammar was so bad you seemed to have missed the point which was;
4. I'm sorry a decent guy lost his life and that people feel the need to slay him again.

I'm very sorry for your loss, WainWrite.

You old curmudgeon, it is only because of my superior intellect that I could figure out what the hell you were trying to say.

I hope you realize by saying he was a 'deer friend' instead of 'dear friend' I was alluding to the likelihood that he swerved to miss a deer. Did you catch that, sparky?

I heard that Eddie was drunk, high and texting while he was speeding with no seat belt on. Does anyone know for sure if this is true? Thank God no one else was hurt.
