Those who like to buy grass fed ground beef, be aware that you are paying a lot more for it than the labeled price. Take for example Thomas Farms grass fed beef. The package is 1 lb. It says on the front of the package that it is 85% lean and 15% fat.
When you use it to make 4 nice big burgers, flattening them out to a 6" diameter size so that they will shrink down enough to still fill a burger bun, you will find that when done cooking you have little 3" diameter burgers left swimming in a pan full of fat, which after the 4 burgers per one package were finished, the fat filled 1/3 of a 32 oz Vlasic sized empty pickle jar.
Worse, on the product ingredient label in the back of the package, they reveal that there are 17 grams of fat per serving, which is 15%. So how come the burgers shrunk 50% and left a total liquid content of 1/3 of a pickle jar? Was the meat filled with water above the fat content so you pay all that money for grass-fed beef that is half water and fat?
