None.

Nobody's risking that kind of liability.

Great falls, climb down the rocks and jump in. Don't worry about the water swirling.

nearly 25 years ago, a friend of mine and I dared one another to swim across Sandy Run. Once back on shore from swimming to the other side and back, we saw the "no swimming sign".

I am a much stronger swimmer, and my friend must've gulped some water. He was sick for days!!

I would never swim in the local waters - ever again!!

Fountainhead = illegal. Burke Lake is a park. The Lake is Lake Burke. I think you can fish in Lake Burke but you need a license. I don't know if swimming is allowed in Lake Burke or Burke Lake Park.

Wow, I remember going to Lake Fairfax as a kid and they had a roped of swimming area and a little beach. Of course that was a long long time ago. I haven't been there since around the time of the 1st HFStival and the first two Lollapaloozas.

I think you can still swim in Lake Barcroft if you're a resident and have a beach pass, but again it's been quite a few years since sneaking in to the beaches there for late night skinny dipping.

Why not swim in an open septic tank? It's not that much different. Where do you think all the sewage overflows and septic tank leakages end up? Add the runoff of pesticides, fertilizers and animal waste, and you've got the contents of every lake and pond in the region. Yum!

I also remember the swim beach at lake Fairfax from the '60s and early '70s before moving to Colo. I loved it as a kid there. There was also a corral of live ponies kids could ride, as well as a train that would tour through the park. Too bad you can't swim there now (except the pool), but if the lakes are too polluted now, guess it's for the best.
