When my Grandfather stormed the beach at Normandy, the Allied Forces cleared the media to come and see for themselves after a couple of days and the operations theatre was deemed safe.
When my Dad choppered in to Laos, the press paid the pilot a bribe to ride along.
When I surveyed the first targets at Kabul through my Barrett M99, I had to ask my spotter twice to re-confirm those were journalists...waving us forward.
Times sure do change...

It is laughable to see all those snowflake "weather reporters" standing in the rain or on a beach having to describe for us the severity of the worlds most powerful and dangerous hurricane ever recorded.

The storm was only the 7th most powerful to hit Florida, but you'd never know it from the 24 hour coverage of it on all news channels.
