Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I keep hearing conflicting reports about the Fuddruckers. Some say it's closed just until they complete work on the highway, yelp says it's closed indefinitely, the Fuddruckers Facebook page says it will reopen "sometime soon".

BULLSHIT!!!
HE GOT HIS FOOT CUT OFF WHEN HE WAS OPERATIOING THE WATERMELLON PEALER
So,it seems there are many delayed development projects along that section of Fairfax City. Annandale has some slow ones, as well. Does Govt red tape have something to do with it? The local govts, both Fairfax City and Fairfax County are run by Democrats, so I wouldn't be surprised if over regulation/red tape is part of the problem.
BTW: I visited the Woodbridge Fuddruckers located near Potomac Mills Mall.
The manager said the Fairfax Fuddruckers will be built on another site and should open in 2017.
The one I visited was clean, with good service, and a good demographic.

It will be located on the same property just a few dozen yards from it's old location. There was a sign up for a while to that effect but it's been taken
down for some reason.

Closed for at least the next 12 months while the city does its road construction. The traffic on 123 will be rerouted from 123 southbound to right on 50, left on Eaton, right on 123. Won't have access to Fudds. End of Jan to end of Dec 2017.

If you’re going south on 123 and turn right (west) on 50, you cannot turn left on Eaton because Eaton is behind you. Around the corner and down the road behind you.

Never try to provide directions to anyone ever again. And stop by REI and pick up a compass for a few bucks, you may learn something.

Fuddruckers really has become something of an endangered species over the last 5 years. Fuddruckers are franchised restuarants and their regional office doesn't seem to provide a lot of support to their franchisees. Of the ten Fuddruckers restaurants that operated in our area in the last ten years, maybe 3 are still in operation.
If you go to the one in Fairfax, there is a note posted on the front door saying they are closed temporarily, and will be back once road construction is completed. I've been to to the one in Ashburn, and thought it was pretty good. It is understaffed, but that isn't a problem because it does not usually see anything more than locals coming in to grab a bight. The one in Hoodbridge is okay, but service can be slow.

Can't comment on your assertion, but a related note: the better-than-fast-food burger market is way more crowded now than a decade ago: Smash, Elavation, Freddie's, and more. Plus a Five Guys every ten feet. I'm actually surprised that Fudd's is still around at all, which is a shame, as they have a nice selection of stuff. I'm a beef-eatin' guy, but I actually liked their chicken sandwiches even more than their burgers.

The detour for Route 123 will be @ Fairfax Boulevard/Rt 50 -- Northbound traffic. The rest of this appears correct.

The elk burger is phenomenal and the Wild Boar burger was even better.

I heard that plans have been changed and the store is being replaced with a Sbarro's because of all the inquiries on Fairfax Underground for the best pizza in Fairfax.

I can confirm.
They're just trying to figure out how to get a 2'x2' concrete block that weights 160lbs out of the ground.

You obviously don't get out to the hipster heaven of Arlington. Or maybe when you were walking by where Rays hell burger was your fedora slipped over your eyes. But I'll help you out. Rays hell burgers is closed in Arlington. Obama and the Russian President going there just ruined them. Go to hell Ray!

Everything obammy touched turned to dust, including Ray's.
