Not sure what is going on, but there is a large amount of fire equipment heading west on Braddock at GMU. Just saw 3 engines and 3 SUVs flying past.

There is a helicopter now and they are positioning police along 123 near the side streets that lead to the complex.

Drove by there about an hour ago. Chain Bridge road is open, West Drive and several others are blocked. Two alarm fire in Ardmore Place Apartments.

I was by Woodson HS about 2 hrs ago and there was a very large smoke column coming from that area. Looked like a pretty big fire...

A local contractor has been hiring illegals and then murdering them at the end of the job to avoid paying them. FCFD got a tip that the bodies were being burned at this location.

An apartment fire in Fairfax damaged 12 units at 4311 Bob Court, according to an ABC7 report. The fire was on the third floor and extended to the attic.

ABC7 has footage from the scene of the two-alarm blaze.


Some residents of the apartment jumped from the second floor. There were four minor injuries.

The fire impacted traffic in the Chain Bridge Road area during the afternoon commute, closing West Drive, Canfield Street and a portion of Ardmore Place while fire crews worked the scene.

Fire and smoked engulfed the Avalon Apartments in a two-alarm fire on Monday at 4311 Bob Ct. It began on the third floor and extended to the attic.

Some residents of the apartment jumped from the second floor, and there were four with minor injuries. One was transported to the hospital, and fire crews also rescued several pets.

For passersby, the scene was terrifying:
"People were running around saying, 'get out, everybody get out of the building,'" described witness Lindsay Smith.
For others, the horrifying reality unfolded right before their eyes. College student Siddharth Gowda and his roommate couldn’t get out their front door – the smoke was too thick:
"I couldn't see anything, I couldn't breathe," he said.

They decided that the only way to live was to risk dying, so they busted out of the second story window – and jumped.

"II was really panicked," said Gowda. "I didn't know what to do. I just heard people saying 'you have to jump, you have to jump' and I just jumped. I wasn't thinking anything else."

Gowda and his friend survived with only a few scrapes, and no one was seriously injured – thanks to one man in particular.

"I just shot out the back door to try to go save who I could or see who needed to be saved," said Yassin Aloumouati.

Aloumouati rushed to the scene and used a ladder to rescue residents prior to firefighters arriving:
"From there I climbed over the balcony…in that burning apartment," he said.
Quick thinking, good fortune, and for some – providence – made all the difference.

There is reportedly damage to 12 units in total -- some from water damage. Units will not be livable.

My buddy and his fiance lived on the third floor, across from the unit that caught fire. They seem to have more water damage inside thier place, from what I've been told. And at least those firefighters saved some resident animals, right?

Finally a wake up call!

I was there. The guys that had to jump were the ones who started the fire. IT WAS NOT MARIJUANA. it was a regular cigarette. ALSO: to those of you TROLLING, some people were INJURED, some were nearly stranded and received minor injuries, MINOR yes, but still, not cool, and worse still, as this is a MAJOR trauma, people have been dealing with an emotional toll. Whatever your PROBLEM is, deal with it yourself, take it elsewhere, and don't talk shit when you don't know what you are talking about. This happened across the street from GMU fairfax, at the AVALON apartment complex, NOT ARDMORE. Fires are not a joke, its to be taken seriously. these people are alive, yes, but they lost everything, including their homes. Unless you yourself have had all your possessions taken away, lost your home, and suffered such a trauma, DONT TALK ABOUT IT. you don't know. you can't possibly know.

shame on you. they saved animals. they saved lives. the whole thing could've gone down, but they prevented that.
