An alleged effort to use the U.S. Postal Service to transport illegal drugs has landed a Leesburg man in jail.

The Leesburg Police Department today announced the arrest of Thomas C. Watson, 41, on charges of possession with the intent to distribute and possession of controlled substances.

According to the report, Leesburg police were alerted by U.S. postal inspectors about a shipment of narcotics bound for a Davis Avenue home. The package was delivered to the home at 9 p.m. Wednesday and was accepted by the resident. Police then executed a search warrant and seized 10 Oxycodone pills and 8.5 grams of MDMA, better known as ecstasy or molly.

Watson was held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

The Leesburg Police Department is continuing to investigate the case.

I wonder if the postal service can figure out who the dealer is? Did they check the package to see if it had anything written on it in the upper left corner?

Thanks for the tip! I'd rather investigate this crime against humanity, then people from o'seas who bilk and rip-off stupid old fogeys. It's not like their going to take there money with themselves when they die.

Package was from China. It was caught at customs. They did what is called a "controlled delivery". Google it.

A LOT LOT LOT of drugs are transported through USPS.

You think that's crazy?

Google Sal Culosi.

I wonder how much money was spent on the "bust", per pill?

Maybe they'll get it back on a nice high bail?

I understand the dealers shoot back. Buyers don't.

I KNOW THIS GUY FROM LA FITNESS IN LEESBURG. SEEMED A LITTLE STRANGE "HIGH STRUNG" BUT OVERALL KEPT TO HIMSELF. I KNOW HE HAS A PRODUCTIVE COMPUTER BUSINESS AND IS SEEMED SUCCESSFUL. NOT SURE WHY HE WOULD HAVE THE "NEED" TO SELL DRUGS?

you know speaking of stealing from post offices as being a Federal crime

isn't hiring practices of DC taking over jobs using DC and foreigners to run the post office a Federal crime ?

isn't running the post office into debt in terms of Billions of Dollars a Federal crime ?

-------------------------------
aren't the worst offenders of post office Federal crimes gov employee democrats these days ?

----------------
ah some towhead sent a schedule 1 care package in the mail

not exactly the problem i was really concerned with.

i'm sure in 1984? they made all non-rx drugs illegal by Wordpadding all they had pictures of, without testing them just all at once (a Bill of Attainder): so i can be sure the legality of whatever it was is really legally debatable anyway

I don't understand why some people presume he's guilty before he even goes to trial.

There are too many holes in this story to convict him- even through public opinion.

1. Why the late delivery? According to the police this was a controlled delivery and the police used someone posing as a neighbor to deliver the package saying it had been delivered to their house by accident. I believe the police actually just left it outside Mr. Watson's house and didn't even hand it to him.

2. It was unopened and marked "Return to sender."

3. This is a health conscious businessman. Why would someone who doesn't even put sugar in his body take these drugs? Why would he jeopardize his career by doing something as stupid as sending an illegal package to his OWN ADDRESS?

These things don't add up. He definitely wouldn't do it for the money.

AH. you must not be from fairfax here's how it goes

fucking gov workers, ie that work for post office, indict you. these are the same people tryign to take you a notch down to increase their pay. what damn coincidence !

then the jury (btw this is illegal) will be instructed by the prosecutor they have two choices: convict or convict. they are told if they report to the judge anything else they can be prosecuted or jailed - these are the prosecutor's instructions to the jury, the defender does not send instructions

while the public defender is paid to protect him: actaully he's paid by who's prosecuting, meaning the guy is screwed like hell - the defenders often have cozy relationships with prosecutors and are about paid to flip in court

-------------------------------
good luck with that, since apparently the guy is not educated enough to describe the situation he's in

there is an extra penalty for using mail since if they didnt' then everyone woudl do it

hey. sending false billing by mail is fx. co.'s job not yours !
