Lindsey, I'm sorry but I don't think you will find housing in the LHS district that will fit anywhere near your budget. Most housing rentals begin at about 3K per month. You might try the McLean House apartments in downtown McLean, but I don't know that they'll be big enough for your large family. McLean is very expensive. Woodson HS and Fairfax High School are also great - try there. Marshall HS is pretty good too if you stick to the IB program. Housing in those areas will be less expensive. The IB program at South Lakes HS in Reston is also excellent and housing will also be less expensive there. Good luck to you and ignore the jackasses posting here.

Anyone here responding is not serious, in need of a hobby or a life, and spends way too much time in front of screens. Another thought Lindsey - have you considered Loudoun County schools? They are all very good. Arlington and Falls Church too but since they are closer in as DC suburbs it will cost you more. Loudoun County - Ashburn area - might be a good option for you.

Even an efficiency (no bedroom) there runs between 1400 and 1800 a month.

Nothing like that around in that area, you might want to go to the County and see if they can place you. Not sure how much luck you're going to have with that many children.

However, we have not determined your ethnicity or national origin. In Fairfax County those qualities have a direct impact on the level of social service you will be eligible to receive.

If you are a minority, from Mexico, or Latin America in general, Fairfax County Social Services will probably provide you with a nice 4 bedroom, 2 or 3 bath condo. Possibly even a stipend to pay for cab fare to your school of choice.

STEP 3) fx. co. gov your a preffered hire now !

You have Front Royal written all over you. I think you would be happier there anyway. Why would you want to live anywhere near McLean?

Good luck Lindsay. What you are looking for doesn't exist. How would you be able to afford that with out a job? My suggestion would be to find a new job around sterling, leesburg or Ashburn and stay in WV. Its not that far of a commute. Good Luck. I have 3 condos in Mclean that I rent out. They start at 1400 for a 680 sqft 1 bedroom.

However, you will never find anything near that amount anywhere in the Langley district or anywhere in Northern Virginia. I think the advice to look into far west Loudon County might be your best bet.

How is it that you are living in WV and are illegally entering your children into a VA school? I'd say your landlord was acting out on Karma. Still I can respect you wanting to do better for your children.
