Mobile Auto Body Scam

Pulled into the strip mall by Lincolnia (where the Arby's is) and was followed by a van. Several guys in the van. I am parked, messing around with some items on the passenger seat. Van pulls up next to me and they start very aggressively trying to sell me on painting some damage I have on my door. I tell them to go away multiple times and they won't go away.

They were a lot higher than my seat, so I am not sure how well they could see inside my car. But they suddenly sped off, at which time I noticed they had Pennsylvania plates.

Maybe they were afraid I was going for my cell phone to take some pics of them. Or maybe they suddenly realized that the item I was actually messing with was a loaded pistol, LOL!

Anyway, watch out for potential car-jacking van from PA. That is all.

This is what you should've done. You played your gun card too early.

i contacted them for body work when I had damage to my car. They came to my house in FFX county, took a look and tried to scam me a day later. Do NOT use " Mobile auto body" on Craigslist, look out for a pack of Paqi's/Al Queada/ Middle Easterns....Said his name was Steve. he was driving a black Mustang, said he was from Alexandria. Do NOT use!!!! Scamming foreigners!!

Ive dealt with this foreign fuck before...ask him for professional references, he told me he worked at Euro Motor Cars in Bethesda, I called up and they had no one on record by the name of Steve. He dodged questions and basically refused to provide references. Use AK Automotive in Sterling/Herndon, did a GREAT job for a MORE than reasonable price. Honest family business, hones price and service....Avoid Mobile Auto Body on Craigslist!! Foreign scam!!

This happens to me 5 or 6 times a year...

I've typically found that saying, "Thanks, but...I work at a body shop." takes care of these reprobates.

I tell them the car is not mine. They ask for the information on the owner and I start cursing at them.

Lately I have taken pictures with a camera or cell, that chases them off.

Let 'em eat turf, I say.

I really wish I had gone for my cell, but I didn't brandish my gun. It was what I was already messing around with (securing) before they came over!

These guys are complete crooks, in all elements of their lives. One of them leased one of my condos, using fake employment documentation. Eventually, I tracked one of the phone numbers they gave me for their references to craigslist ads for these mobile auto body ripoffs.

Needless to say, he stopped paying rent after a couple months, moved his entire family in, hard-lived the hell out of the place, and forced me to evict him, losing 3 months of rent in the process. But perhaps the worst insult is that he and his family were complete a-holes to the neighbors who I know pretty well.

And if you want to know what they do with their ill-gotten money, I found gambling reward cars among the crap they left behind.

I was approached by a guy in a white Mercedes at the Burke Center Giant. He asked about fixing the dent in my truck. I told him no and he drove off but kept circling the parking lot looking for prey. He did not recognize me but he was my exes neighbor in Burke. Family was running the repair shop out of the townhouse they rented. All the neighbors complained to code enforcement but code enforcement never came out. They were evicted within a few months of living there. A total bunch of gypsies. Stay far away from these dudes. I saw the way they worked on the cars.

a spic and a nigga

both with new equipment no doubt they got a loan for either from bull-o-va gov or some illegal "minority business break" con game

My BMW got rear-ended last year on I-95. The insurance company totaled it. I called the mobile auto guys and they came to my house the same day. Not only did they fix the damage on my car but they also got rid of the unsightly tree in my front yard by using it as an anchor to pull out the dent.

Five stars strongly recommend.
