Apparently history is expensive.

I like the dude, but this is getting a bit excessive. Of course, not sure how much of this is really under his control.

He's the goddamn president. I think if anybody's in a position to not spend 75 million on a ceremony during a recession, it's him.

"He's the president" ??? are you referring to President Bush?
I didn't see anything in the news about Obama being inaugurated yet.

Obama is not spending the money.
DC is paying for most of it, but the money is being collected by the IPC.

Oops, my bad, the incoming president. It doesn't change the fact that it's still a ceremony for him, and the tax payers are spending a metric fuck-ton of money in the middle of a supposed recession.

The banks are throwing lavish parties with their bailout money, the government is spending millions on what's shaping up to be a massive block party, but WE'RE IN A RECESSION EVERYONE PANIC.

Bullshit.

I'm going about plans as usually, but will have backup routes to take to get somewhere in an emergency, and also did grocery shopping for two weeks last night.

what changes in plans are NoVaians having to take for this weekend/next week?

What a waste of good money. First he spends over $10 per vote to get elected and then acts as if it's the coronation of royalty. Why waste all of this money? It will benefit a miniscule fraction of the american people. I'm sure that money could be put to better use, say maybe paying teachers or better fire and police protection. Oh well, it's OK as long as it is a democrat but a crime if it's a republican (reference the last inauguration, complaints galore by the lefties).

Mittens Romney, the former Massachusetts governor spent $1.16 million per delegate received in the primary, a rate that would have cost him $1.33 billion to just win the nomination. So, just $10.00 per vote by Obama is fiscally conserviative, right?

Mr. FUNbutmental,

Your argument is flawed. Talk totals, not extrapolated numbers.

Don't confuse FUNdamental. That can be considered cruelty to animals. He really isn't bright, but what's worse, he thinks he is. He also has a sick obsession with Bristol Palin. It is almost stalkeresque.
