Celebrity Delly in Falls Church used to have a good one. Haven't been there in a couple of years. If you are less than Kosher they also have a Crab Reuben.

Try Santini's.

They're a chain with reasonable prices, but their food is way better than it has any business being. Their twist on the Reuben is called the New Yorker and has pastrami mixed in with the corned beef.

Their veal parm sub is killer.

Celebrity Deli on Rt. 50

Lets be honest its a disgusting meal to eat Corned Beef with bread but it does taste good. You will have the processed meat burps all day. For homemade go to Trader Joes as they have excellent Corned Beef and decent rye bread. Grill that shit with a ass-load of butter and slather with russian dressing.

Here's a "Cheap Joint" "Near By" a shuttle flight 200 bucks, a hotel for the night 300 taxi fare 30 bucks.. hey just pocket change .. But you better hurry there closing for good in 3 months. I would be scared to eat one of those huge samwhiches.. But I would be smiling as it all went down the old hatch.

Geez!! 30 dollars for a samwich?? 15 dollors for a samwhich??

Long gone..in Picket Center by pizza Joint Kosmos which was Pizza Kazano and the 7-11 back in the 80's . They made many great samwhiches.

This one from Carnegie Deli in NYC in the Pic is unbelievable.. A Corn Beef samwhich?? A Tower of Corn Beef! I have seen pics but never had enough Jack $$ to get one. There was a "Carnegie Deli" up off Rt 7 by the high rise hotel on the left going west.. I don't know if its still there , I heard they had great NYC style samwhiches and Reubans.

Better take the trip soon. It's worth it. Take something to carry your leftovers!

Dude, that was over 20 years ago! (I know because I worked a block away until 1997, and it was there for quite a while before I left). It was opened as an outpost of the Carnegie in NYC: we had images of big rigs rolling down I-95 full of corned beef :)

Then it got lost that connection and became "Carnival Deli"; never went there. I think there's nothing there now. This was in the Embassy Suites, btw, just east of Spring Hill Road. Fedora Cafe was in the front, where Ruth's Chris is now. We loved Fedora, back in our younger, yuppier days!

The Reuben at Carnegie Deli in NYC is just like the DAJAX picture above, but with all the Reuben accoutrements. That picture is not an exaggeration - their sandwiches really are that big. No one human being can eat that thing by themselves. Costs a lot, but it sure is good.

And the restaurant isn't stupid: you order one for two people, you pay a sharing fee. If you're staying in a hotel and have a fridge, you can have a nice lunch the next day (or two).

Best one is at Jack's Deli in downtown DC.

BTW Reubens aren't from New York, they were invented in Omaha.

Santini's doesn't sell a Ruebuen they sell a bastard version called "The New Yorker." Not bad but not a Ruebuen.

Just had one at the Silver Diner and it was pretty good- meat cut thin, not too greasy. Just look out for the Hummer ramming though the front door.

Oh, god. Not another one. I bet you will be complaining about how our taxes aren't high enough and we don't do politics just like in NY. If the Reubens are so good in NY why not stay there?

Hey, rickies, Santini makes a hurting shitty Reuben facsimile called "The New Yorker" but it mixes money corned beef with hurting pastrami for no reason. If you can stand the disgusting burnt toast smell of all of their shitty restaurants, go for it, but it's not a real Reuben, donky dick.

Any given Korean lunchtime deli that serves an office building in the area will make you a competent and authentic money Reuben. It's like a law around here for these delis to know how to make a real money metal Reuben.
