I actually felt some sympathy for Maureen after reading that article. Admittedly, I felt more sympathy for the people that had to put up with her, but she clearly has some mental health issues.

There was an interesting discussion in the Post today about the downside of being a beautiful young woman. It's all downhill from there, unless you find something more substantive to rely on - which many do not. Maybe something like that was going on with the former First Lady.
