Women Sexually Assaulted in Bailey’s Crossroads Area
Mason Police District - Police are investigating two incidents in which women were sexually assaulted near commercial businesses in the Bailey’s Crossroads area.
The most recent incident took place on Friday, January 31, around 6 p.m. A 28-year-old woman was shopping in the Ross store in the 5800 block of Crossroads Center Way when she was approached by a man who spoke to her in Spanish. He was very friendly with her. As she was leaving the store, the man pulled up in his silver-colored Mercedes, asked her to get in and she did. He locked the doors, drove to a location nearby and sexually assaulted her. The victim escaped and fled.
The suspect was described as a white male wearing a dark jacket and white shirt. He wore glasses and had black hair. His demeanor was outgoing and friendly. There may be other people who have been approached by this man.
In another unrelated incident, a woman was sexually assaulted on her way to a bus stop on January 29, around 6:30 a.m. The woman was walking in front of the Bob’s Furniture Store, in the 5800 block of Leesburg Pike, when she heard footsteps behind her. She was grabbed and assaulted. The victim resisted and eventually was able to flee.
The suspect was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and thin. He wore a black mask, an orange jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Police say a series of tips led to an arrest in a sexual assault reported in the Bailey's Crossroads area of Fairfax County earlier this year.
Sloan Wilson Rappoport, 44, of Arlington, was arrested Tuesday and posted a $20,000 bond Wednesday. He's facing charges of abduction by force/intimidation, sexual battery and obscene display.
The victim, a 28-year-old woman, was shopping at the Ross in the 5800 block of Crossroads Center Way around 6 p.m. Jan. 31 when Rappoport approached her, according to police. The victim told police he was very friendly and spoke to her in Spanish.
As she was leaving, police say the suspect pulled up in a silver Mercedes Benz and asked her to get in. Once she was inside the car, he locked the doors, drove to a nearby location and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
The woman was able to escape the vehicle, authorities said.
Rappoport is an attorney for Downey McGrath Group, a well-known lobbying group, and has worked on Capitol Hill. He met with detectives in Fairfax Tuesday night and was arrested. He bonded out Wednesday and will appear in court in June.
“We were shocked to learn of the arrest and immediately relieved Sloan of his duties. We consider these charges a very serious matter and stand ready to cooperate with authorities if necessary,” DMG Chairman Tom Downey told News4.
The incident was one of two sexual assaults reported in the Bailey's Crossroads area this year -- and they occurred within days of each other.
Just two days before the incident at Ross, a woman was walking in front of the Bob's Furniture Store on her way to a bus stop in the 5800 block of Leesburg Pike around 6:30 a.m. when she heard footsteps behind her. Police said she was grabbed and assaulted, but was able to flee.

Following up on a series of tips, detectives identified the suspect, contacted him and he met with police at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center at around 6 p.m. Police charged him with abduction, sexual battery, and obscene display.
Detectives would like anyone with additional information about this case to contact them at 703-246-7800.
This suspect was arrested in connection with the Ross Store assault; detectives do not believe he is connected to the Bob’s Furniture Store area assault and are still seeking tips on that case.

If he's innocent.. what the hell was a 6 figure salary lobbyist who drives a mercedes doing at a low level store like Ross? He obviously watched too much latina porn and had the perception they were all poor, attractive, and would do anything for money. So he waited until he saw a hot one, gained her trust by speaking her language, and offered her a free ride home.
