Trimming branches near intersection

I wanted to trim some tree branches that are blocking the view when making a right turn near my neighborhood. I'm not sure who owns the land, there's a retention pond there. Could I get in trouble for this? I don't know why nobody has trimmed them yet, they aren't that big but really block the view..

Some of the main roads have tree branches that are intentionally overgrown to make it harder to spot police speed traps operating from the corner.

Virtually all public roads in Fairfax County are maintained by VDOT. You can call them with any sort of road-related problem at 1-800-FOR-ROAD. I would certainly call and give them a chance to make things right before trying to do such work on your own.

Agreed. VDOT does a pretty good job at correcting problems when you request.
