Why Would Any One Vote For Bill Wood ....

his site does not tell you a thing except we have a run away government. I agree!!!!!!!!!! Your BIO tells us nothing, except you joined the Virgina Militia. Why because you could not get in a real form of military. You have nothing on your issues page! You tell us nothing about your education, jobs, or how you would fix anything.

Unless your real goal is to legallize drugs. We already have one BONG HEAD on this site and thats enough.

Tell us something? I would be ashamed to tell anyone you had a site. Maybe you took too many BONG HITS!!!

Bill,

Tina3 makes some good points. I am a strong supporter of the libertarian movement, I even voted Badnarik in the last presidential election, but your website http://www.woodforcongress.com/ is extremely lacking.

A website, especially a campaign website, is your public representation of yourself. Treat it the same way you would any formal published work bearing your name.

You need to talk about the core issues and your opinions on them as well as your personal beliefs.

Half-assed websites like yours only strengthen the notion that the libertarian party is a joke.

Just a suggestion.

Tina3 and others,

The following is a brief outline of my main issues. Thanks, The Economist, we've been up to our eyeballs gathering signatures. We need about 1500 just to appear on the ballot. Once we have met this goal we will be able to focus on other things.

Issues for Campaign
I. Fiscal Responsibility
A. I will only vote for a balanced budget and opposes continued deficit spending.
B. Support zero-based budgeting requiring all federal programs to justify their budget every year rather than automatically receiving funding.
C. Oppose unfunded federal mandates being shifted onto states.
II. Restore Accountability in Government
A. Term Limits -- Limit senators to two six-year terms and Representatives to three two-year terms.
B. Bill will investigate electoral reform to lessen effects of gerrymandering of districts.
C.
1. Strengthen Freedom of Information Act to require declassification of all documents not related to current and continuing national security matters.
2. Curtail ability of Executive Branch and federal bureaucracy to create law through executive orders and regulations. Elected officials in the legislative branch should make law, not the executive.
D. Restore to Congress the Power to Declare War.
E. Return Broader Authority to States and Local Government to respond to problems since they are more accountable to the people. Lessens one-size fits all solutions at federal level.
III. War on Terrorism
A. Support Going after Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda wherever they are found – capture or kill Al Qaeda members with Special Forces, CIA, or strategic air strikes and then get out.
B. Support Phased Withdrawal from Iraq
C. Oppose Open-ended War on All Terrorist Groups Across the globe which is an open-ended case for permanent war.
D. Fight War on Terror AND Enforce Bill of Rights.

No. Because he needed something to do when he isn't doing model railroading.

It took him two minutes to pull down some bullet comments, but he can't update his own WEB site telling us why we should vote for him. He can't tell you what he has accomplished, his correct age, and his core beliefs. Mr. Economist, I have some beach front property in Iowa for sale! Wake and stop taking the BONG HITS!!!!

It's likely the guy has some unmotivated volunteer updating his website. My experience is that doctors rarely can even find the "on" button.

Alright, I looked at your webpage...here's some thoughts:

1) Lose the beard. You look retarded.
2) Your bio is a laugh. No education description? "I'm an optometrist." Whoop-dee-doo. People that can't hack it in med school usually just become dentists or at least ophthamologists. An optometrist is just the dude that goes "Which is better: A or B, 1 or 2?" A trained monkey can do that. Did you even finish high school?
3) The quote at the top of the page is stupid.
4) Your platform is...drumroll...term limits. Yawn.
5) THE MILITIA??? You couldn't even get into the real National Guard? Now you run around with a bunch of fat rednecks, stroking your long hard black guns in the forest, talking shit about how you'll stop the gummint when they come to take over and install the New World Order (tm), because everyone knows that eight rednecks with shotguns is effective against an army with tanks and airplanes and daisy cutters and TLAM and....

I cannot fully express the degree to which you suck. This is why nobody votes for libertarians. You keep running bigger fruits than the Democrats. Now please leave us alone and let the big boys run for government, OK?

"The gummint."
That, sir, is classic. Bravo!

Request for clarification on certain issues:

II.A. Term Limits -- Limit senators to two six-year terms and Representatives to three two-year terms.

How are you going to do that, especially the term limits for Senate?

And why only three two-year terms? You would put the House seniority all out of whack. All third termers would basically be lame ducks, but also hold the vast majority of committee chairmanships and ranking member positions.

II.B. Bill will investigate electoral reform to lessen effects of gerrymandering of districts.

What kind of electoral reform, and what kind of effects are you attepting to lessen?

Curtail ability of Executive Branch and federal bureaucracy to create law through executive orders and regulations.

By what means? Some executive orders derive their power when made in conjunction with or pursuant to certain laws passed by Congress. Would you curtail such laws, or do this through other means?

B. Support Phased Withdrawal from Iraq

What are the specifics of the withdrawal you would offer, if asked to do so? Would you support any withdrawal plan, regardless of the specifics involved or are there parameters that would need to be adhered to to gain your support?

D. Fight War on Terror AND Enforce Bill of Rights.

How would you enforce the Bill of Rights? The Congress is a legislative body, not an executive one. The role of enforcement is not within the Congressional purview.

Further questions:

1) Which issues are before the Congress currently that have caught your attention?

2) If you could choose which committees you would be assigned to, which two or three would you choose and why?

3) Which members currently in the House do you see yourself working closest with (assuming they win re-election)?

Dumbass idea. I should have the right to keep in or vote out my member of Congress. If this were in place, you wouldn't have folks like McCain, Lieberman, Dodd, Hagel, Specter in there. Instead you would have fruitcakes like Sanitorium and Thine running the place. No thanks.

Well, considering the fact that redistricting occurs at the State and not the Federal level, seems to me like you are for broadening the powers of the Federal Government. Not very Libertarian, if you ask me.

Basically everyone currently in office supports this idea. It is a matter of "when."

I thought the Judiciary enforced the Bill of Rights by its interpretation of the Constitution.
