What we need to do is close the "Westfields loophole" which allows unlicensed dealers to sell deadly substances to anyone without a physical, no prescription, and no questions asked. This is common sense legislation everyone in the community supports. Remember, it's for the children!

This all goes back to the principal of Westfields High School and the Westfields Police Dept. for allowing this to happen. They're obviously not serious (or perhaps they are in on it...) about ending this drug epidemic in Westfields High School. It's a shame.

That isn't a "new" death, that is an "old" death that was just now linked. That person died in September, the month before the news of the ring broke. You'd have to read the article to know that of course.

i was wondering if/when someone would be charged in carmen's death. i wonder if there will be seperate trials for each person who died from the "westfield" heroin (alicia, carmen, etc.), or if everyone will just be lumped together under one grand jury. i'm assuming the 2 girls who pleaded guilty yesterday were ashleigh and jess since they're from fairfax? does anyone know if they've been sentenced yet/what their sentence might be?

it was Ashleigh and Anna who pled guilty yesterday...it was just a plea hearing so they weren't sentenced to any jail time for the charges yet, but Ashleigh's bail was revoked b/c she got pulled over last week and tested positive for drugs...so she is in jail right now...and will probably be there permanently for the next couple months to years depending on how much jail time she is sentenced with...so sad

Since 15 or so people have graduated from Westfield and made bad descicions, that means that ALL people who go to westfield make bad decisions, and so We can't hire anyone who comes from westfield

No, its not that all westfields kids are bad, but you cannot deny that a majority of these horrific crimes that have happened in the past involving our youth: VT shootings, robberies, Sully district police station being shot up by Michael Kennedy, Drunk Driver killing an innocent woman in Loudoun County, and now this Heroin Ring. It makes you scratch your head....Why do all these kids go to Westfields??

At least call it by its name... it's Westfield HS, not Westfields. Singular, as on only one Westfield. How often do you hear people say they live in Springfields? Or go to West Springfields HS?

Do you realize that only a handful of these folks went to Westfield? Westfield is only stuck in the spotlight because the paper named it specifically. Ashleigh Shade went to Robinson, Remington went to Woodson, I think some others went to Centreville. I don't believe the "new" death they are linking went to Westfield either.

I wish Westfields High Schoolers had discipline. There's a 60%-70% rate of STDS in that school too. That stat doesn't get too much attention, because it's violence stats get the spotlight. connect the dots...

I would put the Michael Kennedy and Seung-Hui_Cho crimes in one category and the drug problem in another.

I remember back in the late 1990's, Plano Texas had students dropping like flies from heroin ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plano,_Texas#Media_attention_over_suicide_and_heroin_use_among_Plano_students ) I think they were all dying because these dipshits thought that if you *snorted* the heroin, you would be 'ok' ...as long as you didn't use a needle.

Woops. Wrong.

So it does beg the question, why were there two mass murders from the same school in such a short period of time? Perhaps one was influenced by the crime of the other? Something in the water that only got to two people? Or perhaps just random, bad luck?

In ninth grade, I had a fling w/anna before she obviously got mixed up in the wrong crowd, but a week after we ended our "fling" she started dating Kevin who she told on to the police on having given her all the drugs. I find this facisnating because I knew them both very well at the earliest stages of them meeting.
