If this was true, then why didn't the FCPD issue a press release about it?

While correlation is not causation, it sure as hell seems like there's a real problem here. Half a dozen students at W. T. Woodson have committed suicide in the past three years or so, and due to "respecting family privacy" only now is the problem coming to light.

To the person above: Mr. Yost, the Chens and the entire Woodson community has been made aware of this awful website.

Why do you think there are SO many views on those threads? People were Googling for information and this website came up and the family and friends of the deceased had to read all the jokes and horrid things said about their dearly departed.

So, Mr. Yost tried to do a service to the other child's family by keeping things a little less public, so that it wouldn't happen again, but it got out anyway because kids at Woodson are clearly dumbfucks and love this kind of shit and are the reason why so many kids at that school kill themselves. They are bullies.

Now if this is false, why wasn't there a big huge news article about him? It was only stated "Another Woodson death" no one ever said HOW he died, they only assumed it was a "cluster suicide" or a "copycat" it was just a tragic and ironic death of another Woodson student.

The dumbasses are people that take out policies on their children. The purpose of life insurance is to pay others what you can't pay because you're dead. When your kid dies are you out of money and struggling to get by? No? I didn't think so. Life insurance for kids is a scam, you'd be better off investing your money elsewhere.

You obviously don't have kids. If one dies, life insurance pays for a funeral, hospital costs (if they were sick), and missed time from work.

I don't know anything about how this 2nd young man died, but I do have first hand knowledge of the first one's 'death by train'suicide.

It's all great that the families of these young men want to grieve in privacy but there needs to be a time when they both decide to honor their young men by helping identify and get information out to their community to help others prevent this from happening in their own families.

IMO...it's NOT giving respect by 'hushing' up what happened to Mr. Chen. He obviously was hurting inside and wanted to leave a final statement by taking himself out in such a public manner. Surely, he was aware that the person that was killed in January caused a huge media frenzy (it occurred probably less than a mile from where he jumped in front of the VRE train)...why else did he decide to take himself out like this.

Instead of arguing and being ignorant, your community needs to come together and begin talks to identify what's going on in your community and how to create a support network where these youths can go when they feel like taking their own lives.

The decision to give out details, or withhold them, is NOT Principal Yost's. He it's not legally allowed to release information without the family's permission. He literally could not say any more than he said, even if he wanted to. As for why the family might want privacy, who could POSSIBLY understand a family wanting to grieve in private and not inflate gossip on sites like this. The leading cause of death for teenagers is car accidents, and suicide is second. That is not the school's fault. No one at Woodson encourages kids to take all AP and honors classes, and they certainly are not responsible for car accidents even if the person at fault was a student (the person who dies in an accident is not always the driver OR the cause). If they are getting pressure to be perfect over-achievers, it isn't coming from the school administration. It may be coming from home, it may be coming from peers, it may be internal. Perhaps Woodson is high pressure because it is an affluent school with an abundance of families that expect their children to be exceptional and become enraged and/or hyper-critical when they fall short, some if whom encourage them to be judgmental of their peers. That creates a destructive culture that can impact even children whose families don't push them to be perfect. And that does not come from the school. No one cares about the well-being of Woodson's students more than Mr. Yost does. And no one, other than their families and close friends, is more deeply saddened by each loss.
