Since Rolling Thunder doesn't pass through the Rosslyn tunnel, shouldn't the title be something like "Someone crashed and died after riding in rolling thunder"?

WASHINGTON — A motorcyclist who had participated in Rolling Thunder died from injuries sustained in a crash Sunday evening.

The Virginia State police on Monday morning identified the motorcyclist as Craig A. Vanbrunt, 66, of Pendleton, Indiana.

He had lost control of his bike and was unable to brake in time in the westbound lanes of Interstate 66 in Arlington County, the Virginia State Police say.

He was riding with a group of other motorcyclists who had also participated in Rolling Thunder on Sunday afternoon. They were on their way out from the event when they came upon stopped traffic near the Rosslyn Tunnel.

Vanbrunt couldn’t brake in time, fell from his bike before it crashed and was taken to George Washington University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The police say he was wearing a helmet.

This is code for "He was going too fast -- like many of these monkey "riders" like to do -- and paid the price."

Amazing how everyone else managed to stop in time.

I wonder why the police doesnt have a special unit just to handle crazy motorcyclists? Riding bikes are a lot of fun but when they endanger anyone by weaving in and out off traffic very dangerously and passing you in a very high rate of speed is awful.
Once you hear the loud roar and look behind and if it's not one single crazy, it's group of crazies passing everyone with no regard to drivers safety. 400 lbs of bike hitting a car in any angle is dangerouse when the person riding the the bike has no care of their own life.
It only takes one bike to go down and it causes the road to be shut down causing headaches for regular drivers.

Do these dirtbags EVER raise any money for a good cause with their annoying and deadly rides?

I would suggest most of them show up just to be seen. They could be finding a much wiser use of the their time if they put some thought into it. Or is that asking too much? You have to remember more than half of these fat slobs were drug addicts in Vietnam and killed a boatload of brain cells over there.

The guy driving that car has been arrested and is in jail. Once he makes it to prison, the biker gangs will turn him into a prostitute. He will spend the next few years servicing his cell block. Maybe some of you would like to join him?

Holy cow, that's the funniest video I've ever seen. The "riders" were doing what "riders" do - talking shit and causing problems - and Fatty and Mrs. Fatty paid the price. Notice how they all shut up as soon as the guy made contact.

LOL times 1000.

What's amazing is that I thought I felt something yesterday afternoon - like the Earth suddenly shook beneath me. I paid it no mind, but it must have been these two fatsos hitting the ground. Hopefully there was no property damage due to the tremor!

Someone was not "killed". Someone died in an accident. Had the "someone" not been a dumbass, said "someone" would still be alive. Maybe all the other "someone's" will stop coming here on Memorial Day and let us enjoy the Holiday where we live and they can "do whatever" where they live.

ROLLING THUNDER is honorable. These guys ride to honor our war heroes and those still missing in action. Yes, I know this is a smart ass message board, but most of you idiots on here have never done an honorable thing in your lives. I am sure as hell sure you aren't members of the military making such ignorant comments. LOVE ROLLING THUNDER and it is a horrible tragedy that this man was killed.

Wrong, dumbass. The car driver was a little snot nosed punk like you who was weaving in and out of traffic. He cut off one of the bikes, who were on their way back from a memorial Day Ride to support our Military. There was no car in front of him at the light and when the bikers caught up with him and asked what his problem was, he ran them over on purpose and took off.

He was driving on a revoked license and has a long history of this plus other crimes. He has been charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, hit and run, plus other serious charges.

Just wanted you to know what kind of dickhead you think is cool. He will not likely survive the long prison term he will receive and will hopefully be raped daily by prison biker gangs. This is the type of scum you look up to and idolize. Says a lot about you, fucking asshole.

LOL. How exactly did this "ride" support the military? Please be specific.

Yeah, we all saw the video dummy. And thanks for admitting that the "riders" were running their mouths. What a bunch of idiots. If you encounter someone road raging, you keep your trap shut unless you wish to instigate the person further. If you choose to instigate, whatever happens next is on you.

Sounds like precisely the type of person and most of us would know better than to instigate. Most of us, that is, other than testosterone-deficient, anger-prone, attention-whoring "riders". :-)

Too bad this happened but at least he was 66 and not a kid dying of cancer. Motorcycles are dangerous.

Teehee. You're all talk, like pretty much every other "rider" on the planet. (Including the dopes in the video who immediately shut their mouths once the driver showed them who was boss.) If I were behind you causing a ruckus, you wouldn't do shit other than give me the finger (as if that would upset me, LOL) and then zoom away on your douchemobile.

So you are purposely carrying ball bearings on your daily commute just so you can cause damage to someones vehicle or cause a life ending accident any time you feel that someone is doing something you do not agree with? And you would like us to believe that you are the "rational and responsible law abiding citizen"? You sir have issues.

I'm saying if you aggressively threaten me with your car, I will take that as a threat on my life. Warning you by tossing a couple of ball bearings at your windshield is a courtesy.

Hit me with your car and I will take it to the next level.

All you brave little pricks better understand that many bikers have concealed carry permits. You should also be aware that many Police are bikers. Look up Iron Order MC.

All is good as long as you keep your self-aggrandizing tough talk on the internet. Just don't let your delusions spill over into reality. You will very likely regret a decision like that.

Speaking as someone who actually rides a bike in this car-strangled area, and who doesn't just dust it off once a year for breakfast at Olde Country Buffet enroute to Rolling Thunder, it's pretty obvious that in any car v. bike situation, cars win.

You can have your get-out-of-jail-free Iron Order leather vest packed with ball bearings, Glocks, you name it, but a car will flatten you before you can even give the car's driver a dirty look...

You could have a RPG, Ak47, or nuclear missile. Just take a look at the guy in the video, he was run the fuck over within 2 seconds. Your fat ass can't even touch your toes that fast.

Agreed, "riders" are definitely poster children for this phenomenon. But don't forget the others:

Dunning Douche Effect: The tendency for one to feel manly when they dress up in costumes and ride their bikes.

Dunning Dummy Effect: The tendency for one to think they can win a road rage battle with a car even though they're on a tiny-ass motorcycle. See above video for evidence of this sad delusion.

Dunning Loser Effect: When one uses "riding" to fulfill an inner yearning for attention. Often caused by lack of said attention during childhood.

Dunning Fatty Effect: Describes the remarkably high correlation between "riding" and obesity.

The list goes on and on!

So now you are claiming that Law Enforcement Officers, sworn to protect and uphold the law, are going to take it upon themselves when off duty to kill someone for tailgating them or driving aggressively? You are stating that a Fairfax County Police Officer will throw ball bearings at my windshield? Just want to make your point clear.

This can go as far as the Fairfax County Fire Department harassment issue if you would like? Keep giving up information and it will eventually make it into the mainstream media. Iron Order Motorcycle Club? Is that like the Lynwood Vikings? Maybe that would be a nice place for a budding journalist (hello WTOP???) to start looking into irregularities in local Law Enforcement.

Who Are We?

We are Brothers. We are Bikers. We come from all walks of life and every profession. We Ride, we party, we laugh, we grieve, we take care of our Brothers, Maidens, and families, and we still have time to take care of those in our communities that need our help. Chapters of The Iron Order MC host and participate in charity events for the good of their communities and for the good of individuals in need. If you read our guestbook, you’ll see countless entries of citizens, business owners, and supporters who have witnessed the generosity and giving of time the IOMC has had a part in sharing. We are sometimes in the local news for these events and at other times, only the recipients know. We don’t do it for headlines – we do it because it’s the right thing to do.

What are Brothers? A Brother of the IOMC is someone who Places a Brother’s Needs Before His Own Wants, better known by us as My Brother Before Me. He is a chosen family member who we respect and love.

What are Bikers? A Biker is not simply someone who rides a motorcycle but rather, someone who lives a lifestyle. Someone who can’t get enough of being in the wind and exploring the miles on two wheels rather than being confined to a cage (car). Someone who’s thinking about and caring for his Brothers every day of his life. And someone who has that innate desire for true American Freedom granted us by our Forefathers and the Constitution of the United States to go where we want, gather with whom we want and where we want, and dress how we want. We Respect every other citizen and their right to make the choices of what club they belong to and what colors they wear and, without fear or apology, we demand that they give the same to us. And yes, there are times we have a run-in with someone who doesn't give us that same respect but that’s life in America, where there are good people and bad people, but we will always do the right thing and take the high road.

So that’s a small start of a conversation of Who We Are. We are the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. We are in nearly every state in the US and many foreign countries and we are 10 Years stronger as of July 2014. So if you see us out, come over and say hello. If you’re missing something in your life, own a bike, and wish to get to know us better because you may be interested in Brotherhood for yourself, hang around and get to know us better. Who Are We? Iron Order!

Hmmm...do not see anything about ball bearings or killing people??? Maybe that is their secret handshake kinda thing.

I'm trying to picture some fatty, with a vest that looks like a sausage casing, managing (while trying to control his 800-pound 30-horsepower rolling gay steam bike) to find a ball bearing in a vest pocket, and then to have the coordination to contort himself to face towards the rear (while somehow keeping his hand on the throttle) and throw the bearing, and actually hit anything.

He'd probably put out the eye of one of his riding "partners."

Another fail!!

I'm 6'2 195 with muscular build. Most bikers are in pretty good shape. Sure there's always the exception but that's all you shitheads can focus on. I don't just toss ball bearings unless you drive near me like an asshole and put my life in danger. Tailgate me...lose your windshield. Hit me intentionally, you better kill me and you better get away quick because you are either going to die on the scene from a gunshot or you are going to head to prison where my buddies will make you life Hell. Bikers don't take real kindly to morons who run over other bikers. My suggestion would be to pre-purchase a few cases of Astro-Glide.

How does this honor anyone? They're riding bikes. It's just an excuse to ride annoyingly.

A former roommate had a tattoo which said "Jesus... he died for me and I ride for him" - It made absolutely no sense but that's the mindset of these brain-dead fuckers.

yes. you dont hear about rider deaths of this manner every year it is rare

SAFETY FIRST

a bike rider does have to be doubly aware due to the size difference and lack of airbag and their IS a large price to pay for failing to do so. you cant go into any situation blind but also you must give cars behind who dont care time to see that your applying brakes.

i remember a young guy at my work who said he would soon get a blue ninja. i said "oh you've ridden before" he says "no". i said "ride it only on neighborhood/back roads" and slow until your very familiar with it. ride a bicycle before that. (and etc).

a week later i see the same guy with a cast on and he tells me sheepishly he totaled the bike at a traffic intersection.

-----------------------------
in VA your not really supposed to ride alone until you've had xxxx weeks of riding with an experienced rider

i heard in some riding packs they go too fast and put the LESS experienced riders up front

it could be the riders up front wanted to break faster but resisted breaking harder to avoid an accident from the rear while AHEAD ... the didnt know of any sure danger

in that case ... the most experienced riders should lead and follow, and the people in the middle would complain of how slow things are and how they'd speed things up

Jesus, dude, you spend time scouring the internet, looking for photos of pudgy mens hands holding ball bearings, images which you subsequently post, and you call Kiton gay?

And all this is supposed to prove what a tough biker you are?

Give up gaylord, Kilton has embarrassed you and spanked your soft baby bottom, but on the other hand, that might be the sort of discipline you've been looking for all along.

No effort at all. Took 2 seconds to pull up that picture. Loved watching Kilton and the rest of you fags get your panties wadded up over it. All of you got Pwned. Only a moron with a low intellect would think that took any effort.
